Client success story: a family wanted a warm & adventure filled spring break. Initially Costa Rica was on their radar. After finding an ideal itinerary and hotels, the flights were just not working out budget wise. It didn’t make sense for their 5 nights to spend so much on the flights. One of the challenges facing TAs in 2025 is sticker shock. Just like every industry, post pandemic travel prices are high and continue to rise. I have been chatting with many families who have not traveled like they used to since before 2020 and the biggest pushback is budget expectations.
So what should you budget when you are considering a trip? There are many factors that go into that answer.
Destination.
Time of Year.
Level of desired amenities & activities.
Flight costs.
One of my jobs as your Travel Advisor is discussing if your expectations match your list of wants. And when they don't match, what the next steps are. Do you change locations, change dates, or compromise on your expectations for what your trip goals are?
