🌿🌍 The Amazon rainforest is an adventure like no other, but it comes with its own set of health risks! From mosquito-borne diseases to dehydration, preparation is key. Here's what you need to know before heading into the wild:

1️⃣ Understand the Health Risks: The Amazon is home to health risks like malaria, dengue, and typhoid. Be aware of what to expect and take necessary precautions.
2️⃣ Yellow Fever Vaccination: The WHO recommends vaccination, and it's required for entry in some areas. Make sure to get it 10 days before you travel.
3️⃣ Protect Against Mosquitoes: Long sleeves, DEET repellent, and mosquito nets are essential. Consider anti-malarial tablets, too.
4️⃣ Stay Hydrated & Energised: Heat and humidity can dehydrate you quickly. Carry a purifier and energising snacks.
5️⃣ Basic First-Aid Essentials: Pack a well-stocked kit to deal with minor injuries and illnesses.
6️⃣ Plan Ahead for Safety: See your GP and consult a travel health expert before you go. Pack essentials, travel in groups, and use reputable tour organisers.

Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime, safely! 🌍✨

Stay informed on the latest travel health updates! 🌍💉

The UK Health Security Agency has updated its guidance on the Qdenga® vaccine, the only licensed dengue vaccine in the UK. This vaccine is recommended for travellers aged 4+ who are visiting dengue-endemic areas and have previously had a dengue infection.

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne illness that affects millions worldwide, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. Symptoms can range from mild fever to severe complications, so prevention is key.

If you're feeling unsure about your travel health, consider visiting a travel clinic before your trip. Knowledge and preparation can give you peace of mind as you explore the world! ✈️☀️

Lost your yellow fever certificate? Don’t panic—it happens more often than you think! 🌍💉

If you can provide valid evidence of having received the vaccination, a replacement certificate is normally issued. Start by contacting the clinic where you were vaccinated to see if they can issue a replacement.

If no record is found, don’t worry—it is usually safe to re-vaccinate. A new certificate can then be issued. 🩺✅

Many countries require this proof for entry, so act fast to avoid travel delays. Stay prepared, stay protected, and keep exploring with confidence! 🛫✈️

🌍 Planning a trip to Europe? Starting in 2025, UK travellers will need ETIAS—Europe’s new visa waiver scheme—to enter most EU countries. 🇪🇺 This digital authorisation is similar to the U.S. ESTA and will be mandatory for short stays of up to 90 days.

ETIAS is expected to be operational in mid-2025, according to the action plan endorsed by the ministers of EU countries. The process will be simple: apply online, pay a small fee, and receive approval within minutes. ✈️ Your ETIAS travel authorisation will be valid for three years or until the travel document you used in your application expires - whichever comes first.

But without it, you’ll risk being denied entry at the border. Don’t let unexpected paperwork ruin your trip!

🌏 Heading to Indonesia? Prepare for an unforgettable adventure while prioritising your health! 🏝️✨

Plan Ahead for Vaccinations: Don’t forget to schedule your vaccinations well in advance of your trip! Ensure you're up-to-date on routine vaccinations and consult a travel health clinic for the recommended vaccines for travel to Indonesia. Depending on your itinerary, there may also be additional vaccines to consider.

Common Health Risks: Be aware of mosquito-borne illnesses like dengue fever and malaria. Malaria risk is present throughout the year in most areas but some areas might be low risk and not warrant antimalarials. Remember to check with your doctor or travel health clinic about your itinerary. Also, use insect repellent and wear long sleeves, especially during dawn and dusk!

Stay Safe with Food, Water, and Sun Protection: To avoid food and waterborne illnesses, always drink bottled water and eat at reputable places. When trying local dishes, choose cooked foods and avoid raw or undercooked options. Make sure to protect yourself from the sun by wearing sunscreen and staying hydrated, especially during outdoor activities!

Essential Safety Tips for Travellers: Stay informed and prepared during your trip! Keep a copy of your travel insurance handy and know the location of nearby medical facilities. Carry a comprehensive travel health kit to address any minor health issues.

Travel smart, stay safe, and immerse yourself in Indonesia's rich culture and stunning landscapes! 🇮🇩✈️

Tick-Borne Encephalitis is gaining attention recently, especially with rising cases in mainland Europe as more people take to hiking in the Alps during the summer. It's important to note, however, that cases have also been confirmed in the UK. If you enjoy hiking or walking in the UK, it's worth being aware of the small but present risk. Fortunately, this can be easily managed by wearing appropriate clothing, using mosquito spray, and taking extra precautions, particularly if you're exploring higher-altitude regions. Stay safe and enjoy your adventures!
