The tomb of Queen Nefertari 👸

It is located in the Valley of the Queens on the west bank of Luxor, is one of the most spectacular tombs that you can visit in Egypt.

This tomb has a big “wow” factor. The level of detail is amazing and the colors are more vibrant than what we saw in any of the other tombs, temples, and pyramids in Egypt. If you want to get an idea of what the tombs looked like 3,000 years ago, make sure that the tomb of Queen Nefertari on your list. 😉

Valley Of The Kings, Luxor 😎

The rulers of the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth Dynasties of Egypt’s prosperous New Kingdom (c.1550–1069 BC) were buried in a desolate dry river valley across the river from the ancient city of Thebes (Luxor), hence its modern name of the Valley of the Kings. 👑👑

This moniker is not entirely accurate, however, since some members of the royal family aside from the king were buried here as well, as were a few non-royal, albeit very high-ranking, individuals.

The Valley of the Kings is divided into the East and West Valleys. The eastern is by far the more iconic of the two, as the western valley contains only a handful of tombs. In all, the Valley of the Kings includes over sixty tombs and an additional twenty unfinished ones that are little more than pits.

Temple of Hathor 😎

The Temple of Hathor at Denderah lacks the sublime quality of Seti’s edifice at Abydos. However, its fabulous astronomical ceiling and nearly intact rooftop sanctuaries offer a unique insight into the solar rituals at other cult sites where they have not survived. 🙏

Denderah also shows how Egypt’s Greek and Roman rulers identified themselves with the Pharaohs and deities of Ancient Egypt by copying their Temples and the feet of royalty were shown with all their toes nstead of only the big toe as with the majority of statues as the Ancient Egyptians did. ❄️
