Last month I had an interesting Missing Animal case. Ruby the cat had been missing for over 5 weeks when her desperate owner contacted me. Because Ruby had been gone so long, her owner had almost given up hope. The communication was so insightful. Ruby was very specific about her reasons for leaving and was clear about what she needed her owner to do before she would return. The requests from Ruby definitely pushed her owner out of her comfort zone and it took her a few days to do them! The happy ending is that 2 hours after her owner was able to complete what Ruby had asked, she had a phone call and Ruby was returned home! Both of their lives have now changed for the better and this was another wonderful example of how our animals teach us the most valuable lessons!

On a long drive from South Wales to Cornwall this weekend, I thought about how I'd never seen a badger in my life. Then in quick succession I saw 2 badgers but unfortunately, both were dead. I'm unsure how both died but this cull is just horrifying and so saddening. My good friend is a nurse who works at a veterinary practice. They regularly test cows for the TB that the badgers are supposedly spreading to them. The results from the blood tests are apparently minimal, yet the reaction is so vast and permanent. From a practical perspective, badgers are nocturnal creatures and cows are not. Surely farmers can ensure their livestock are indoors at night? I hope I do see a badger again - one that is strong, healthy and alive.
