Bosque del Apache, National Wildlife Refuge in central NM is home to more than birds - many other species of wildlife can be found there. This past season I made this image of a mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus). They are indigenous to western North America; it is named for its ears, which are large like those of the mule.

I lead private and group tours on the Refuge and am local. Contact me if you're interested in photographing these deer or any of the other species you can find at Bosque.
