We are very happy to have been invited to contribute to the II 'LA BIENNALE DELLO STRETTO' Curated by Alfonso Femia, Francesca Moracci and Mariangela Cama. The exhibition runs from the 18 settembre al 14 dicembre 2024 at the Batteria Forte Siacci (Calabria)and the Fondazione Horcynus Orca (Messina) Italy.

The curatorial themes this year are two: de"Le tre linee d’acqua" and "il Futuro delle Città". They propose a broad reflection on the city; its constituent parts and categories of objects, all geared towards advanced planning, compatible with the needs of the future.

As part of the Open Lectures series of the Department of Architecture and Urban Design of EKA, Matteo Cainer took the stage in the hall of Eesti Kunstiakadeemia / Estonian Academy of Arts on November 4th, with the lecture “Alphabetizing the Matrix of Discomfort” as part of the lectures series that revolves around the issue of 'Healing Architecture'

The project is a contemporary renovation and transformation of an existing Victorian two-storey house in Colorado. The inspiration and generative idea for the design derives from the clients’ professional field: cinematography. As a result, the project not only tries to emulate the surprise and amazement characteristic of the world of cinema with its lights, motion and emotion, but specifically hinges its architectural language on the three core elements used to create such magic: the projector, the reels, and the film strip.

Sketch, diagram, and installation design conceived for the Seoul Architecture Biennale 2021 'Crossroads' curated by Dominique Perrault. ‘Weaving Khodynka’ is an urban design project in the old Khodynka airfield in the outskirts of Moscow, that was submitted as part of the thematic: natural/artificial and created as a visual and philosophical juxtaposition between two worlds.

Through a poetic and conceptual interpretation of the original design concept - the gyro horizon - the installation is visually constructed as a gimbal able to orient itself in relation to the earth. The entire piece traces the history and future of the site by visual storytelling as a self-sustained eco-system designed through the convergence of ecologies and communities. The result advocates a more egalitarian, holistic, and forward-thinking approach, one in tune with nature and favoring an environmental conscience for the new resilient city of the future.

Our MCA tote bag!!!
The result of a close collaboration with Venetian artist and friend Lucia Veronesi

The idea came from the need to create a 'Made in Italy' design piece that would be elegant, versatile, and useful in everyday life.
The result is a stylish and colorful flexible bag that can be worn closed, creating an external pocket to insert rolls, drawing tools, or simply a newspaper, or completely open, transforming it into a large bag with more capacity

The bag itself has been entirely handmade, from the sewing to the work of the artist who silk-screened the artwork on every bag.
