This week I have been kindly invited by Creative People in Florence to do a take over of their Instagram account. If you would like to follow along there, I will be sharing some of my inspirations and design development 💋
Hi everyone, I am Kerrie (.Luft) founder of a Luxury Footwear & Accessories Brand made here in Firenze; ‘softly blurring the boundaries between Art and Design’.

Originally from England, in 2012 I left after winning Fashion Fringe, a design platform in London for new designers. I spent some time in Paris working with the historical design house Roger Vivier before moving to Italy almost 10 years ago, initially Milano, and after to Florence because I wanted to be closer to the craftsman and artisans making my shoes.

The beautiful, unique city of Florence has not only been the birthplace of my Shoes (handmade in a small family run factory) but also to my daughter, who was born here in the summer of 2020. So I feel a special kind of deep love and affection for the city.

Over the coming days I would like to take you on a journey of my creative process and to give you an insight into the essence of my brand.

✨Crafted in the softness Italian suede with taupe leather lining and gold bespoke trims details ✨
✨I create the delicate gold trim details first in a 3D digital computer program in order to create the right curves and aesthetics. I then print them using a 3D printer and the final step is to cast them in brass ✨

Mimosa Rucksack | 🌾The name is inspired by the bright yellow flower Mimosa, which Italian Women exchange to celebrate International Women’s Day every March 8.

The tradition started in Italy after World War ll, following the French who gave violets and lily-of-the-valley. Mimosa was chosen as it was considered at the time the flower that best reflected “female sweetness and fragility”.

A beautiful tradition that I’ve always loved and embraced ever since moving to Italy. 🧡💛
