We’re sure that you’re aware of the current situation in Ukraine. What you may not know, is that the Bulgarian Government has agreed to receive people fleeing the invasion.

Together with others from Bansko’s international community, Sunflower are working with the Ukrainian Embassy to assist people who may be coming to the area.

There have already been pledges of accommodation from hoteliers and apartment owners in the area.

Our aim is to provide humanitarian aid upon arrival and during their stay

We are asking for help as follows -

🌻 Warm clothing, shoes and bedding - both adult and children size

🌻 Food and toiletries - (Updated 21/3) - Long life milk, Rice, Cereals, Oil, Butter, Tinned beans, Dried pasta, tinned tomatoes, packet soups, tea, coffee, biscuits, toothpaste and menstrual products

🌻Medicines and First Aid - such as, paracetamol, ibuprofen, sticking plasters, sterile dressings or any meds you’re finished taking.

These lists are not complete. Please feel free to donate anything you can.

Днес Ви представяме 🐻 Дана.
Тя е 27-годишна и бе спасена през ноември 2003 година като танцуваща мечка.
Дана е лесна за разпознаване не само заради нейната тъмна, лъскава козина и енергична натура, но също и по впечатляващото тегло, което може да достигне до 200 кг.

Дана е развила много черти на характера си, една от тях включва начина по който яде хляба си. Когато гледачите го хвърлят в нейния сектор, тя не яде хляба от земята. Първо, тя събира хляба в устата си и тогава го носи на тихо и спокойно място, без да има други мечки около нея. Тя не взима само една филийка в устатата си, вместо това тя събира, колкото е възможно повече хляб, понякога достига до половин хляб – на филии. 🍞

Дана живее много спокойно с три други мечки 🐻 Нада, Боби и Чарли.
Въпреки многото признаци на нейното проблемно минало и повтарящи се пропуски в стериотипно поведение, развитието на Дана е доказателство за ефективните програми за рехабилитация в ПАРКА ЗА ТАНЦУВАЩИ МЕЧКИ Белица.

is for introducing our 20 lovely bears 🐻 who are currently living at our sanctuary. 🌳
Join us every Monday and get to know all of them better!

Today, meet 🐻 Dana.
She is 27 years old now, and was rescued in November 2003. She was previously a dancing bear.
Dana is easy to recognise not only by her dark, sleek fur and energetic nature, but also by her impressive weight, which can reach up to 200 kg.

Dana has developed many character traits, one involved how she eats her bread. When the care takers throw the bread into her enclosure, Dana doesn`t it eat directly from the ground. First, she collects the bread in her mouth and then takes it into a quiet place, without having other bears around her. She doesn’t take only one slice of bread in her mouth, instead she collects as much as possible, sometimes up to half a loaf of bread - in slices. 🍞

Dana lives very peacefully with three other bears Nada, Bobby and Charlie.
In spite of the many signs of her troubled past and recurring lapses into stereotypical behaviour, Dana’s development has been proof of the efficient rehab programmes at DANCING BEARS PARK Belitsa.

We are starting to see things picking up again! Lots of holidays being cancelled and refunds being given to people who have wanted a Jukebox, but also like the sun following a wet and dull winter and had intended to put their purchases back until later in the year. Some have now decided that they might as well opt for their dream Jukebox now whilst they are staying at home. Here is one that we delivered yesterday - following all the new distancing rules of course! - An easy install directly through nice bi-fold doors - (one of next weeks installations will make up for it ) This digital SL15 looked absolutely stunning in this modern home and sounded amazing! This machine holds every Top 40 chart track to appear in the UK Top 40 since 1960, all in date order as well as thousands of other albums. Based on the technology that you find down your - what used to be local pub. The machines are updated weekly on line as soon as the charts are released or by DVD's that are posted to you. The ultimate digital jukebox.

С тази снимка “преди/ след” можем най-добре да онагледим как се променят животните, след като бъдат спасени от тежката си съдба. 🐻 Рику е бил окован с верига в малка барака, в двора на къщата на собственика му в Албания, заобиколен от мръсотия, но това време приключи. Сега Рику живее в ПАРКА ЗА ТАНЦУВАЩИ МЕЧКИ Белица и се чувства чудесно 🌲.

With this ‘”before/after” picture, we can best visualize the changes that the animals are experiencing after being rescued from their cruel fate. 🐻 Riku was kept chained in a tiny shack in his owner`s yard in Albania, surrounded by dirt. But that time is over! Now Riku lives at DANCING BEARS PARK Belitsa and he feels great🌲.
