Rubber Colours

At the ITTF Annual General Meeting in May 2019, a new rule was agreed which said that with effect from 2021, additional bright colours would be allowed for racket coverings (rubbers).

One side of the racket will still have to be black, but the other side may be a bright colour clearly distinguishable from black and from the colour of the ball.

The ITTF said that further details would be available nearer the time after the detailed colour specifications had been agreed.

Well, the ITTF have now agreed the new colours.

Bright green, bright blue, bright violet and bright purple/pink will now be allowed in addition to bright red.

The other side of the racket MUST still be black, but these additional four bright colours will be permitted in addition to bright red.
