I am Trevor Firth founder of Paws 4 Thought Images (p4timages) a photographic enterprise based in Hampshire. I have a passionate interest in photography which more recently has been combined with my love for dogs and all things four legged including Merlin, our wonderful Flat Coated Retriever. By photographing Merlin and his friends I have gained a wealth of experience of animal photography and I

have had many opportunities to capture ‘that special moment’. For my images I concentrate on the relationship between the animal and its owner such that I produce an image reflecting that ‘Special Relationship’ by ‘Capturing that Moment’. By using my services I ensure that you get what you are after and NOT what I think you want! The images are taken for you and I will work with you to ensure they are optimised for however you wish to use them.

So we are now up to the 4th full day of the Zimanga experience. We started off in the Scavenger hide very early in the morning and had some fantastic shows of both ground and air displays.
The day culminated in spending a surreal time with a small herd of elephants while watching a South African Sunset. An absolute pleasure to spend time with such animals in such a location.
There are a few more images today but I make no excuses!

After a short break I have finished editing photos from the 3rd full day of our trip to Zimanga. Some interesting perspectives as I tried to get some 'low level' shots of two Cheetah brothers plus Hippo's and a Crocodile or two!! Enjoy.

We are now on to our second full day in Zimanga. The day started out very quietly until Jono our ranger pulled something out of the bag with just a perfect location and such fantastic light. We had been trying to find a pride of lions for most of the afternoon and Jono just nailed it. Enjoy because I certainly did!

Following on from my previous post here is a small selection from our first full day in Zimanga. We spent the night in a hide to try and capture some night images but only managed a small selection. Enjoy todays offering while I work on the next batch!

Well it seems like an eternity since I posted anything here but having just returned from South Africa I have one or two images of the wildlife that I will upload over the next few weeks.

After a long day(s) travel we arrived late afternoon and once we had the accommodation sorted we were straight out to use the last of the days light. We were not disappointed and we were treated to these 3 Cheetah sisters making the most of the suns heat before they went off to find their supper. As an introduction to SA this was insane as we were no more than a few metres away from these wonderful beasts. Such a pleasure and such a welcome. Enjoy!

Well a bit late but as promised here is part 2 of my Skye eagle images. The following sequence of 10 images shows 2 juvenile eagles having a 'discussion in flight'. I believe we have one golden and one white tailed eagle in the discussion. I felt so privileged to witness this event close up and directly above us. I hope you also enjoy them.

Well its been nearly 2 years since my last post and so much has happened in that time for a lot of people.

We have moved house, during the lockdown maddness, and now reside in Cumbria so that was a challenge! I have also semi retired and work part time from home - although I have more than enough jobs to do!

So why no posts? I think its fair to say that I lost interest in photography and needed a break. But after a fantastic holiday on the Isle of Skye with my daughter at Easter my mojo is back!

I had a guided tour booked with James Roddie back in 2020 but we could not hook up until this Easter so we went looking for golden eagles on Skye and grabbed some stunning images. The first batch were taken on my Nikon Z6ii using a Nikon 500 F5.6

I won't post them all at once and will tease them out so please enjoy the first batch.

Its good to be back!
