If you’re bringing the grandparents to Walt Disney World - yours or your kids’ - I highly recommend you book the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical R***e dinner show one night for the whole family. It’s just good old fashioned fun that everyone can relate to. No apps, no video screens, no references that get lost in translation. The older folks will appreciate the good humor and everyone will have a great time. It’s a cast of pure talent on that stage that knows how to get the crowd excited and keep them entertained. And the BBQ is pretty great too!

One of the things I love most about Walt Disney World is that somewhere between thrilling coasters and poolside naps are these fun, feel-good moments that don’t require bravery or make you feel like you missed out if you chose to sleep in instead of rope drop. It really is a full resort destination that offers moments the entire crew can enjoy!

Pro Tip: Can’t decide between doing a Walt Disney World trip or Disney Cruise Line vacation? Do BOTH! Sailings out of Port Canaveral are the perfect way to have a few days in the parks & your favorite resort either before or after a relaxing, fun filled, character-fueled cruise vacation! Disney (and I) will make it so easy for you with ground transportation and resort stays bundled in your vacation package. You won’t have to lift a finger, except when you’re ready to order another DCL “drink of the day!”

How does a land and sea trip sound to you? Who has done the combo trip, and what did you love most? Did you do WDW before or after? My vote is BEFORE!

HUMBUG! This beauty is getting a makeover and sadly, it’s affecting us all. While Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa gets a brand new lobby lounge, it will prevent the traditional Gingerbread House display from appearing this year. I know this is such a blow to many who’ve got trips on the books for this holiday season and were looking forward to this iconic marvel. HOWEVER, the Grand Floridian isn’t the only hotel in town that goes NUTS with gingerbread at the holidays! Plan to check out Disney’s Beach Club, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge and/or Contemporary resorts to see their unique decor and stunning displays.

Let’s not forget to mention the theme park decorations (don’t skip Hollywood Studios!) and Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail. All this to say, don’t despair that the Grand’s lobby is under repair. There will be plenty of holiday magic to get you in the spirit! Walt Disney World and Christmas are the ultimate dynamic holiday duo.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Disney’s Boardwalk is one of the best resorts for families. This whole area offers food, fun, shopping and fireworks views without the theme park or Disney Springs crowds. The pizza window is a total winner for families, plus there’s a couple of ice cream options, midway games, vaudeville style entertainment, plenty of snacks and you have all of this right outside your door. Not to mention the walking paths to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios make park day a breeze!

Between all that, plus the Skyliner, the Friendship Boats, and the new bakery, this resort area is the total package. You know I’ve got all the info on this resort, so if you want more details, just ask!

It’s hard to wrap your head around the newest Harry Potter themed land at Universal’s Epic Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic. Here, you’ll experience the charm of 1920's Paris, fantastic beasts, second generation interactive wand spell casting, warping through time and space via a fireplace to the British Ministry in the 90's and witnessing Umbridge’s escape. MIND BLOWN. Hands down, this is the most detailed and authentic Harry Potter themed land yet!

It’s celebrate Stitch day! Yep, every 6/26 this adorable little trouble maker gets the spotlight. If you’ve never seen the movie “Lilo and Stitch”, his alien name is Experiment 626, hence this holiday on June 26th! So Happy 626 Day!

You may need to sit down for this...but we are officially halfway to Christmas. Let’s not get our tinsel in a tangle, because this is actually good news. You are ahead of the candy cane curve, and we can start planning that awesome holiday trip adventure NOW so your holiday shopping can ALREADY be done! Imagine their faces when under the tree this year is a stocking full of trip hints, and then you whisk your elves away on a Christmas holiday trip! Have you ever said “nope” to traditional gifts and instead just wrapped up some family trip memories? Where did you go? How did everyone react?

I love Living with the Land. There I said it. I can ride it every trip, multiple times each trip and still “oooooh” and “ahhhh” at the landscape, the clever farming and genius ways to propagate and grow. Even if you can barely keep grocery produce alive, you may still love this attraction.

Who else LOVES this attraction and thinks it doesn’t get nearly the attention it deserves? (And whose family just humors them by riding even though they think it’s just a nice break for their feet?)
