This is kind of cool to see actual photos of hidden staff-only areas on airplanes.

There are some secret areas on widebody aircraft, where the pilots and cabin crew go to rest during long flights. Passengers can’t access them under any circumstance and they’re well hidden from view.

Such a shame! The Giggling Marlin in Cabo San Lucas caught fire and is a total loss.

1989 as part of our summer break, Cynthia and I took a bus down to Cabo and being on a budget, pitched a little orange pup tent in the campground that used to be right next door to the Giggling Marlin. What a time that was!

Another reason to pack a spare outfit in your carryon luggage. Today in the blistering heat, pouring rain, and lightening ⛈ , it was too dangerous for crew to unload the baggage from the planes in Florida!! Maybe tomorrow ....
(not me, a friend - all that careful packing until 1am!🤦‍♀️funny, she was actually wearing a green jumpsuit LOL)

Random travel tip: carry a small bit of duct tape with you. You can just sort of roll a small bit of it on itself. Works great to fix holes in mosquito nets or widow screens.
Of course it does not have to be cool zebra print like I have. ;) LOL

UPDATE: They never did find this man. The family returned home after searching for many weeks. They can only conclude that he got lost in the jungle or met some other similar fate. Very sad.

Anyone traveling to Cozumel, please keep an eye out for this man with dementia. He wandered off the cruise ship and took a taxi to the north end of the island near Isla de la Pasion where there is not much civilization. 🙏😢

I'll admit that I usually just book whatever flight is cheapest. But if you are on a long haul, you should consider what type of seat you'll be stuck in! Some airlines make the experience far better than others.

You can find good Champagne, amenity kits, hot towel service, and wider seats in the economy cabin — if you know where to look.

We're just now feeling the first winds of hurricane Hilary in San Diego. Normally this would be considered a refreshing breeze, but now it holds a big menacing question mark over it. It's the edge of something huge but will it be huge when it comes through here?

In my lifetime we've never had a tropical storm or hurricane warning even. It's hard to know what to do. Do we act as if it's a real hurricane? Do we blow it off that will just be getting a lot of rain and we don't need to do much prep? Do we get nervous or do we laugh at all the news hype?

We spent a couple of hours picking up and storing things in the yard that we think would easily fly around. It's an almost impossible task really. We have extra batteries and plenty of wine (kidding - drinks).

Of course we're concerned about our own situation here, but another thing to consider is poor Mexico. Hilary's path is going to go right through areas where there is a lot of ramshackle housing made out of not much more than corrugated material and cardboard.

I guess all I can say at this point is it will be interesting to see what happens!
