I live in Aberdeen with my partner Ruth and our three children Lauren, Kieran and Fraser
along with Levi the dog. As a family we enjoy travel in both UK and abroad, this always involves some outdoor activities which have included: cycle touring, camping, biking, skiing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, climbing, kayaking, hillwalking and lots more. My adult daughter has Downs Syndrome and takes full part in all the activities we do. Lauren and I ride a tandem when cycling or cycle touring, a few years ago we all cycled up the Outer Hebrides and then down the Great Glen Way towing a trailer behind the tandem with all our camping equipment on it. She also participates in Special Olympics ski training. I have a real passion for the outdoors and would like to give others, particularly adults with additional support needs, the opportunity to experience the joy of the great outdoors by offering various activities including: Cycling on trike, tandem or bike at various parks, tracks and trails as well as learning about bike maintenance; hillwalking & walking on forest trails; outdoor skills & safety and possibly even overnight camping or residential trips. I spent 9 years working in additional support needs education doing a wide range of tasks including: personal care; first aid and medication; hoist and sling work; minibus driving. A large portion of my time was spent outdoors with pupils doing activities which included: football coaching; trail cycle leader with full responsibility of maintaining the schools bike fleet of 40 bikes/trikes/tandems as well as the bike fleets of two other schools; allotment work; Duke of Edinburgh instructor and leader for 3 years; hill walking leader; numerous residential trips to a variety of locations including PGL outdoor centre, Cromdale outdoor education centre, youth hostels as well as camping on sites & wild camping.
