Making Memories? Just getting away? One thing I can tell you for certain is that where you stay makes a difference in your experience. But, I may not be the way you think.
Traveling with family members of all ages and at all resort levels has taught me so much. First, if you are traveling with kids the room isn’t going to be a big deal to them. They are most excited about the parks, transportation, the food and the pools! The bed doesn’t matter. The bath doesn’t matter. It’s a stop over for them. Though they will find things that they love in each resort. Each time we stay in a new resort my kids find something new that they want to do again and again. Every time we leave my kids will say “I want to stay there again!” Kids like exploring and seeing new things. But, they also love the moments of just spending time as a family. Even if they don’t want to admit it.
Adults, I’m talking to you now. The room. The resort. The bed. The bath! That’s your vacation! You will most definitely find that there resorts you will fall in love with during your stays. The distance you walk in the parks and the distance to you bed each night will matter. The variety of food in the restaurants will make a difference. The methods of transportation will be key factors in how you spend your time.
If you are a Magic Kingdom family you will want to be close to the magic. Star Wars fanatics will need to be close to the Skyliner. Epcot adults will want to find ways to travel to the World Showcase without exhausting their energy. When looking for the tranquility of the Animal Kingdom you will not want to be in the center of a bustling metro resort.
So what determine your best resort?

There are lots of wonderful new attractions at Walt Disney World and there are many moments of nostalgia as well. It’s A Small World was my husbands favorite as a child. My youngest son also loves this ride. One of our favorite features is the purple winking hippo. We’ve dubbed her “Winky”. Every time we see here we cheer!
Flash back to an amazing stay at Wilderness Lodge!
As a kid my parents took us to Disney almost every year. My Dad insisted we always rope drop and see every inch of the park before we left in the evenings. He loved the people mover then and still does today. In my younger days I probably thought it was “meh” when compared to other rides. However, As an adult I love to sit and put my feet up for a slow cool ride. Tomorrowland at night is one of my favorite areas in Magic Kingdom. Riding the people mover makes it even more enchanting with all of the lights, sights and sounds.
If you ever need a break from the heat, rain or crowds while at one of Epcot’s festivals World Showcase place is the perfect spot. It’s cool, there are tables, chairs, vendors, displays and sometimes music.
It’s a beautiful night for a walk around Coronado Springs.
