Did you know that when you visit Basel you get a BaselCard that entitles you to free public transportation and a 50% discount at their museums and attractions during your stay? The city is home to the most number of museums in Switzerland that would surely keep you busy during your visit. Then there’s their Christmas Markets….. ❤️🎄 ❤️🇨🇭

After an overnight stay in Alberobello, we were off to Basel in Switzerland. And to get there we had to fly to Milan first to catch a 4-hour long distance train. It was around lunch time when we got into Milan’s Linate airport and had a few hours to spare before our train’s departure so we made our way to Milan’s Duomo. And lucky for us there was a Christmas market set up right by the cathedral. ❤️🇮🇹 🎄

From Matera, it was an hour’s drive to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fairytale town of Alberobello known for its unique Trulli (mortarless limestone dwellings). 🇮🇹 ❤️🇮🇹

Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the third oldest city in the world after Aleppo and Jericho. Known as the city of stones and rock churches, it has been inhabited continuously for more than 10,000 years.

Matera has also been the filming location of several movies, some notable ones like The Omen, James Bond’s No Time to Die, Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. ❤️🇮🇹

Something was oddly familiar with the new night market the big K and I just visited. Turns out Jodd Fairs was the former Talad Rot Fai Ratchada rebranded and moved to a new location just a few minutes walk from Bangkok’s MRT Phra Rama 9.

The market is open daily from 4pm to midnight.

Old Quarter, Hanoi ❤️🇻🇳

On our last day in Hanoi, the big K and I started with an early morning walk to Hoan Kiem lake also known as Sword Lake, a quick look around at D**g Xuan market and a visit to St Joseph’s Cathedral while having our fill of Hanoi’s yummy street food in between.
