To encourage and promote journal writing!! Writing is a great source of comfort in tough times, and a wonderful way to record the joyful times of life.
It is also to launch the upcoming publication of MJ Hanley-Goff's book "How Writing Can Get You Through Tough Times, and Joyous Ones: No Experience Necessary."
I never thought that an essay coaching session would work just as well as an in-person session. I think the fact that the student is in their comfortable surroundings -- whether kitchen table, or home office -- makes it a bit less awkward for them. So, I vote "yay" for remote essay writing sessions!!

I had the enormous pleasure of working with Dominic Kelly on his book, "My Hall of Memories." This photo was taken on April 9 at the Chester Library at his book signing. It is with great sadness that I say that Dom passed on May 15. This man had a full life, some sadness, but great joy. This project was one of the highlights of my life. A truly great man, and he will be dearly missed.

Due to popular demand, I have scheduled two-writing workshops in June. These will go deeper into the writing practice, and since it's a 9 to 3 day, there will be time for you to work on your own writing projects, and I will be available to have one on one conversations. These workshops will provide you with the creative juices to write that difficult chapter, or get unstuck. I will also cover some of my own relaxation techniques and strategies to work through my own negative thinking. Just come with an open mind!

CHESTER RESIDENT, DOMINIC KELLY, TO SIGN COPIES OF HIS MEMOIR “MY HALL OF MEMORIES: FROM THE CLYDEBANK BLITZ TO TWA FLIGHT 800”
AT THE CHESTER LIBRARY, SATURDAY, APRIL 9 FROM 3 – 5 PM. This was a true labor of love from the start to finish. Dominic Kelly "told" me his story over the course of the last three years. I compiled it into chronological order, spell-checked terms and Scottish towns. The book is a remarkable "first person" account of a major German bombing in WWII, Dom's emigration to the US, and his experience as a member of TWA's trauma team after Flight 800 went town off Long Island. Come celebrate with Dom, his family, myself, and the wonderful Chester Library folk on Saturday, April 9 from 3 to 5 pm.
What do most writers need: a place and a time to write, a community of writers to bounce ideas off of, and oh, yea - coffee and tea. I've come up with the solution. Join me for six Saturdays in 2016 for an all day writing opportunity.

Just a few words about yesterday's writing workshop at Bumblefly: there is nothing better than engaged and enthusiastic writers getting together over coffee and snacks, and sharing our writing....it was a perfect day, and I thank those who came who truly made it so!!
