Get yourself down to Wirral Country Park this afternoon for more bamboo than you can shake a stick at! Imagine Bamboo is Everywhere is a FREE family event running until 4pm today by Thurstaston Visitor Centre, with everything from circus workshops to bamboo drum kits!

Did you see the Imagine Bamboo story on BBC Northwest Tonight? It will give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful bamboo creations you can see at Thurstaston tomorrow. The family-friendly event, which helps celebrate Wirral Country Park's 50th anniversary, runs from 11am - 4pm.

Eight unforgettable days.
It’s been an amazing week in Hoylake as The Open returned to the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.
More than 250,000 visitors enjoyed spectacular golf - and a warm welcome from Wirral. You can relive the experience with this video.

Saturday at The Open. It's soggy but that's not enough to dampen the spirits of our visitors from the North East. 125 volunteers from as far away as Scandinavia, 1,200 hours helping visitors, 412,000 steps walked by our team leaders (we might need some plasters), and we’re not even half way through. Thank you Shannon and all of our volunteers! 👍

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT! On Saturday 19 August ‘Imagine Bamboo is Everywhere’ will take place at Thurstaston as part of Wirral Country Park’s 50th anniversary.
It will be a day of art, music and performance… and some very large bamboo structures! And...we’re looking for performers. If you know any gymnasts, parkour or dance groups who would like to take part, email [email protected]

It is with a heavy heart that Wirral Council unfortunately announce the postponement of this year’s Wirral Food, Drink & Music Festival due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
We look forward to welcoming you all back with open arms on 2, 3 and 4 September 2022 where all three headline bands - The Coral, Echo and the Bunnymen, and
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - will take centre stage at Birkenhead Park following a celebration of Wirral’s best produce and delicatessen during the daytime.
The decision to reschedule has been taken due to the ongoing uncertainty around the roadmap to recovery. All tickets will be automatically transferred to the new date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date and you want to request a refund, please contact The Floral Pavilion Box Office via 0151 666 0000 by 8 July 2021 and include booking name, transaction number, postcode and contact number.
We're already counting down the days until the vibrant weekend full of foodie delights, chef demonstrations, and world-class music… 443 to be exact! 😀

Bill Ryder-Jones - The Dee and Me #TheWirralIWantToBePartOf
We are thrilled to announce that four well-known artists who have links to Wirral have produced their own works for #TheWirralIWantToBePartOf 👏 First up is Bill Ryder-Jones, a critically acclaimed musician from West Kirby who has had a string of top-rated albums. Bill has composed 'The Dee and Me', a contemplative instrumental work inspired by Wirral. Have a listen to it below! 👇 We'll be sharing these works over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for pieces from The Singh Twins, Karen Gallagher MBE and Michael Aldag coming soon.
