The beaches of Maldives have some of the whitest sand in the world! This is due to the fact that the sand on the beaches are made out of coralline, and not quartz, like in most other countries. This type of sand is super rare and found in only 5% of the world's beaches!

Some interesting facts about whale sharks! 👇
Fact #1: Whale sharks are the largest fish on the planet, and u can actually swim with them on our Maldives tour!

Fact #2: Whale sharks are in no way related to whales. Although they are sharks, they are very chill and pose no threat to humans.

Fact #3: Whale sharks can reach up to 14m (46 feet!) in length, that's huuuge!

Fact #4: Whale sharks can weigh up to 12 tons! That’s 24,000 pounds or around 11,000 kg!

Fact #5: Whale sharks are filter feeders and sieve plankton, squid, and other small fish through their gills for most of their nourishment.

Fact #6: Whale sharks have about 3,000 tiny tiny teeth (less than 6mm long) but they don’t use those teeth to eat.🤷‍♂️

Fact #7: Whale sharks are slowww swimmers, reaching speeds no higher than 5 kmph! They swim by moving their bodies from side to side, unlike other sharks who just use their tails to swim.
