Are you tired of hearing black people "complain" about racism? Do you think its being blown out of proportion or exaggerated? Do you think they all deserved it? Are you more upset, disgusted, or focusee on the property damage or riots rather than the events that caused them?

Having a non-biased view of the world is nearly impossible because we can't immediately change how we are perceived by the world literally or figuratively. What we can do though is internalize why we react the way we do, why we draw the conclusions we do, what if that were my [insert close familymember or friend] that this happened to? It's easier to lack empathy when you don't relate to someone else's situation or if you're not actually listening to the stories being told and taking them at their word rather than looking for the "holes" within them or justification for their cause.

Love thy brothers and sisters. Treat each other with respect and have sympathy. Desensitization of a heinous act repeatedly occurring serves as a tool for complicit behavior, lack of action, and an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. We are all guilty of it. Take action by donating to a worthy cause or organization. Join local politics and vote in local politics. Vote for your District Attorney, Congressmen, Governors, Mayors, and so forth. There isn't a simple solution but chip in and do your part because we need all hands on deck to drive this change. Every little bit counts
