We can't travel to Japan at the moment, but longtime member, Danielle, has suggested the Japanese Film Festival!

Check it out (below)!

And if you sign up for her recommended screening, let her know! If people are interested to discuss afterwards, Danielle will set up a zoom chat after the film!

Hi all Bucket List Toronto Members!

I hope you are all healthy and are being good citizens by staying home and keeping your distance!

It's a tough time and I know everyone is craving some human interaction... So, Choir!Choir!Choir! has a great solution! I did the one they did this week and it was fun as hell!

I suggest we take this time to connect in any way we can. We are about a week away from a year anniversary from the day we lost Dutch. So let's belt out some tunes and know we are all apart right now, yet ALWAYS together!!! :) As Dutch would say - "It's all happening!"

I will paste the instructions and notes below from Nobu and Daveed (aka Dabu) for what to do to get connected for Saturday!

If you join - be sure to take some photos, videos and share them with us!

Hope to see you online on Saturday!

xo Maria (and the rest of the BLT team!)

This time, we’ll be singing...
EPIC LOVE SONGS!!
If there was ever a time to feel there love,
it’s definitely right now!

Here's a brief FAQ about these things...

"Hey, why aren’t you using a two-way system so everyone can hear one another?"
-Even the most sophisticated video conference systems at their full capacity will allow for 1000 people to be in the same “room” at one time, and the lag can be dreadful. On Tuesday, we had close to 10k people at a time. That said, we have reached out to some companies and we're seeing what we can do, but these things takes time.

"What time does this start in my area?"
-We will begin at 3pm EDT.
Use the Internet to find out what time that is for you.

"What the hell is Choir! Choir! Choir!?"
-Co-founded by Nobu Adilman + Daveed Goldman in 2011, C!C!C! invites people to bars and theatres (when there isn’t a global pandemic!) to get them singing original arrangements to
songs you love. There are no auditions and everyone is invited! All of our videos live at youtube.com/choirx3 and our website is choirchoirchoir.com

"Why are we doing this?"
-Like everyone else in our industry, we’ve had to postpone or cancel all of our gigs and are staying close to home. But we are hard-wired to perform and so we are experimenting with doing a version of our sessions online. Especially at a time like this, we need to stay connected.

"How can I prepare and what songs are we singing?"
-Follow the instructions above. Download the lyrics. Tell all your friends and get ready to hang with us at 3pm EDT this Saturday!

Now, as always...
LISTEN TO THE F$%KING SONGS!®
C! you all on Facebook Live or Youtube Live on Saturday!!

Much Love,
-DaBu-

To celebrate the incredible win of the Toronto Raptors, Choir!Choir!Choir! is doing We Are The Champions by Queen next week! They are planning to send the video recording to the team, so the chances are very good Kahwi and Kyle will see you singing your heart out! :) (The video will also of course be available to you on YouTube)

C!C!C! is an amazing concept, spearheaded by 2 talented guys (Daveed and Nobu - aka Dabu!). Within 2 hours, they have an entire room singing as a 3 part choir and it is amazing! You don't have to be the greatest singer - simply skip the parts you can't do - and stand at the back if you are unsure (that's what I do!). It is really an unbelievable and cool collective experience!

https://choirchoirchoir.com/

Need more proof how cool these guys are? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJRsWJqDjFE

It starts at 8pm, but doors open at 7pm. With the Raptors fans and the increasing popularity of Choir!, I would definitely aim to be there at 7pm to make sure you get in.

It will be $5 at the door (cash only).

It usually ends about 10pm and you are standing the whole time, so make sure to wear comfy shoes. And bring reading glasses if you need them, as you will be handed a song sheet to follow.

I cannot imagine that anyone DOESN'T know this song, but in case you don't, listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3FiAN20guU

The amazing Danielle is heading up this event! She is both a Bucket List Toronto AND a C!C!C! veteran! We will soon confirm details on how to find each other in the venue. Please RSVP only if you really will be attending, so Danielle has a good idea of who is coming and who to look for!

This will be pretty epic, so I suggest if you can make it that you GO!

In the words of Peter "Dutch" Schouten - It's All Happening.

Hello everyone!

This will be a great little gathering to reconnect - and to remember our beloved Dutch (the founder of Bucket List Toronto and to many of us, an inspiration and good friend). This will also be an opportunity for any new members to come out, say hi and hear about events past and future - and a chance for ALL of us to meet new people, laugh and talk about doing some fun and crazy things! :)

It will be super casual and all are welcome!

There will be an opportunity to make a donation to Killbear Provincial Park (Friends of Killbear) - a place that meant a lot to Dutch - and is a great place for anyone who wants to explore nature. Great camping! Or you can make a donation at any time - be sure to indicate that the donation is in memory of Peter Schouten so his family will be alerted to your kind donation. http://www.friendsofkillbear.com/

There is no charge for the event, but you will be responsible for any food/drink you order. Please only RSVP yes if you really feel you will be coming, as we must confirm numbers with the venue - thanks!

We hope to see some long-standing members - but also anyone NEW to Bucket List Toronto who just wants to see what its all about! It is in a SUPER handy location, so drop in to say hi!

In the words of Dutch - "Its All Happening."

Hope to see you there!

Hello to all members of Bucket List Toronto,

I am writing with some somber news regarding Peter “Dutch” Schouten, who started this group so many years ago.

On Wednesday March 27th 2019, he passed away suddenly in his Toronto home at the age of 53.

Other than his children, I think Bucket List Toronto was his greatest love. It brought such joy to him to help people do amazing things with other incredible people. Dutch was wacky. Dutch laughed out loud. Dutch was a beacon of fun and adventure. You couldn’t help but laugh and love with him.

As well as being a close personal friend, I worked with Dutch on numerous BLT events over the years – and I too find great joy in getting people together to do amazing things. It is his family’s wish to keep this group going to honour him and to continue this great thing he started. I (along with a couple other key members) will do our best to make him proud and keep the fun going!

A small celebration of life with friends and family will be held on Saturday April 13th in Toronto.

Any thoughts and memories are welcome to share with his family!

I know there is a skydiving event planned for June. I will sort out what needs to be done to make sure this still runs as planned. Please give me some time to figure it out – I will update as I receive information. If you are scheduled to attend and feel I should know anything, please contact me..

We are all devastated by the loss of this amazing man, but we hope to keep his spirit alive by enjoying every second of our time on this earth. Look out for updates and new events, as we get them planned.

Thanks for being such a big and important part of Dutch’s life.

Maria
