I got my first reward travel credit card years ago when I found myself a newly divorced mom working two teaching jobs and I have never looked back.

2️⃣ We are staying at a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel on points instead of staying on Disneyland property. For this trip we’re at the for totally FREE! It is within walking distance of the parks, our room has a full kitchen and there is a grocery store nearby so it made snacks and drinks for the littles (and mom) so easy!

3️⃣ We flew into California for nearly free using Southwest points and a Southwest Companion Pass. We rebooked our flights during Southwest's Fall Sale and we were able to get our flights on points from SLC to LAX for 19k miles TOTAL for all three!

Budapest should not be overlooked! Not only is it beautiful, it is also one of the most affordable cities in Europe! Here are some of our favorite Budapest activities with kids!

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR FAVORITES!

1️⃣. Take a swim at one of the many Hungarian Thermal Bathhouses. Our favorite was Szenchenyi!

2️⃣. Ride the Budapest Eye Ferris Wheel

3️⃣. Take a guided tour through the complicated, fascinating, and sometimes tragic history of Budapest. (Budapest was occupied by both the Nazi's and the Soviet's.) The best spot where it all converges is at Liberty Square.

4️⃣. Play in the many parks and fountains!

5️⃣. Take a night time boat tour and see the city from the water! Budapest is best viewed from the water with the sparkling lights and majestic buildings. This was one of our favorite activities!! We booked through www.mypersonalbudapest.com and had an absolute BLAST!

6️⃣. Ride the UNESCO World Heritage funicular up Castle Hill. It costs $11 and your littles will love it.

We are LOVING Yellowstone! If you only have a day or two in the park, here are the DO NOT MISS stops for families🙌⬇️ (These are all on the Lower Loop to help minimize the time in the car!)

Don’t forget to save this for when you and your crew visit Yellowstone! ♥️

1️⃣. Mud Volcano Area
Hands down our overall favorite. It is a super easy walk (even for tiny little toddler legs) and has some of the best fumaroles, mud pits, and our favorite - the Dragons Mouth (AMAZING!) Not to mention, it isn’t as well known and so it isn’t as busy! 🌋

2️⃣. Hayden Valley
Overall this is the best area to spot the magnificent Yellowstone wildlife! We’ve seen bears, bison, a beautiful bald eagle, and some massive elk. (Don’t forget to bring those binoculars!) 🦬 🐻

3️⃣. Artist Paint Pots and Fountain Paint Pots
My kids are obsessed with the mud pots (okay, so am I😍)! Both of these trails have amazing -lesser known- but active geysers, massive bubbling mud pots and some pretty cool and loud fumaroles. These paths are easy with kids, are mostly* stroller friendly (there are a few stairs) less crowded and OH SO FUN! 🎨

4️⃣. Brink of Lower Falls
This is a steep little hike, so bring those hiking shoes (and a baby carrier if needed). However, the view over the Lower Falls offers (in our opinion) one of Yellowstone’s best. Go at the right time of day and you’ll see an impressive waterfall rainbow as it cascades into the deep canyon! 🌈

UNPOPULAR OPINION
Old Faithful can be hot, crowded, and sometimes anticlimactic. (Yep, I said it😬). We’ve decided on future trips that we’ll be skipping it (especially while our kids are little). It’s a LONG time to wait on a boardwalk with no shade, and kids that want to run around and play. 😅

Here is a list of all of the activities, rental sites, and tour operators that we LOVED in Hilton Head! ⬇️🏖️

(Don't forget to save this if you plan on visiting Hilton Head Island anytime soon!❤)

🐚 Rent kayaks, boats and more from Outside Hilton Head! Then explore places like "Vanishing Beach" and "Bloody Point Beach" . These beaches are off the beaten path and have some AMAZING tide pools, and cool things to explore and do.

🐬Explore the surrounding waterways to look for dolphins! We saw dolphins each time we were out on the water.

🚲 Rent bikes upon arrival and explore the island by bike! One of the kids' favorite things to do was to ride bikes along the beach during low tide. It is so fun and such a novelty for us! We rented from Hilton Head Outfitters.

🏖️ Spend time on Palmetto Dunes Beach and go down away from the hotel properties. The water is perfect for wading and the sand is baby powder soft.

🦀 Take a fishing charter outside of Bluffton! We went crabbing and fishing with May River Excursions and LOVED it!

🐊 Go on a Gator Safari at Sea Pines Forest Reserve! If you want to safely see some alligators and other cool creepy crawlies like water snakes and more, this is the spot to do it!

We just celebrated Benson’s 1️⃣st Birthday 🎂 🎈! He is the silliest little thing, and is the perfect caboose to our blended fam! We love him sooo much and couldn’t imagine life without him♥️.

While giving birth and hospital stays are not my idea of a good time, we knew last year that we had several hospital visits and bills coming up. (Hello baby Benson 👶🏼and RIP uterus 👋🏻!)

So… wanting to earn free travel, we planned ahead to make the most of our hospital bills by strategically getting and using the right credit cards on those hospital stays to easily meet our minimum spends! 💳

The points we earned by using the right cards to pay for those bills are how we are getting 12 free nights at some seriously gorgeous hotels in Egypt later this year. (Can’t wait to see you and !) ✈️ 🙌🏻

Here’s the trick! ➡️ If you are going to use a card to earn points/miles, especially on big purchases, you MUST pay it off to get those points and not carry a balance!

So when those bills come
1. put it on your new card
2. pay the card off ASAP
3. get a huge welcome bonus
4. earn free travel on something that you have to pay for anyway!!! ✈️🤩
5. strategically cancel or downgrade when the time comes to avoid extra annual fees!

We're getting ready to leave for our big Europe trip in less than a week and I am SOOO excited!! 🌍 There is no way we could travel like we do without using points and miles! ✈️⁠

AND HE'S OFF! ✈️ If you've seen our stories over the last few days then you know that Jason is going on a humanitarian trip to the Polish/Ukraine boarder and we have been collecting supplies and donations for him to take to the refugee centers there. 🏥⁠

I am so incredibly proud of him, and I am so incredibly thankful for all of the supplies and donations that have been sent!😭⁠
We were honestly a little stunned by how much was donated, it has been nothing short of an Amazon delivery center here the last few days. ⁠

We have a confession 😳, right before this anniversary trip we got into a doozy of a fight and I don’t think either of us wanted to go. 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🤬.

BUT… when my first marriage was crumbling, one of the things I really regretted was not nourishing and prioritizing that marriage and relationship more, especially when things got hard. And that SUCKED!

So, when Jason and I got married, we promised to go on at least one trip a year with just the two of us to make memories, and connect. (I am not saying that you have to go on couple trips to have a strong happy marriage. For us, it is an actionable item and something we have chosen to do.)

This last little trip was the ABSOLUTE BEST and I am so glad that we went. ♥️

I am in no way a marriage expert, and I am winging it on the daily. However, I do know how to plan an awesome vacation! ✈️😉 So here are some things you can do to make a getaway together a little easier. ⬇️

HOW TO MAKE A COUPLE’S TRIP EASIER TO ORGANIZE AND PLAN 🙌🏻

1️⃣ Plan in advance, like way in advance! Get it on the books and calendar as soon as you can.

2️⃣ Budget for it and make it a priority. It is best if everything is paid for ahead of time and the budget is agreed upon by both parties before you leave. (The last thing you want to do while you are on a trip away together is to fight about money!)

3️⃣ Communicate to your children how important it is that mom and dad spend some time away just with each other. If you are worried about leaving them, hide little notes or treats for them to find while you’re away.

4️⃣ Get your childcare arranged as early as you can and follow up often. Don’t hold this off until the last minute! Consider even having a plan B just in case.

5️⃣ Once the trip is on the books make it non-negotiable. Unless there is an emergency, promise to each other that you’ll make it happen.

6️⃣ Plan and do things for each other while you’re away! Lean in, let the daily grind at home go for a few days and focus on each other.
