Essay on Yemen Crisis
Here are some few points to write a essay on Yemen Crisis

Yemen Crisis and Operation Rahat by India : In the past six months, a war for political dominance between the two sects of Muslims—Sunni and Zaidi Shia—has intensified in Yemen, the Arab country in southwest Asia that has been imploding since 2011.Saudi Arabia has been trying to thwart the attempt by the Iran-backed Zaidi Shia group to take control of the country.
In February, however, Yemeni president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi fled the capital Sana’a when the rebel Shia group—also known as Houthis—strengthened their presence in the city.
Due to the worsening condition of the country, the Indian govt on March 31, decided to send Gen V.K. Singh, one of its senior ministers and former Chief of The Indian Army, to oversee the mission and ensure safe return of its citizens. The operation was called as ‘ Rahat’ – which means relief in Hindi

1.Saudi Arabia is attacking Yemen but from the air. Their soldiers are afraid of setting foot yemen-crisis-and-indian-roleon land fearing for their lives.
2.Pakistani Army & Airforce form the bulk of the Saudi force in Yemen, but Pakistani soldiers are afraid of landing in the cities due to the fear of being killed by Shia Militia.
3.Pakistani Ambassador to Yemen Dr. Irfan Yousuf Shami escaped with all his staff, leaving behind hundreds of stranded Pakistani nationals.
4.What made the situation more complex was the fact that the airport and airspace in Yemen, are under the control of Saudi Arabia.
5.PM Modi called up Saudi King Salman for his co-operation in rescuing Indians from Yemen. Since the PM shares a good relationship with the Saudi King, the King assured his complete support. PM Modi requested the Saudi King to stop the air strike for some time and also allow Indian planes to fly out of Yemen so that Indians could be evacuated from the strife-torn country.
6.The Indian national carrier, Air India, carried 488 people through three special flights from Sana’a to India on April 5. A day later, Air India is reported to have evacuated 574 people from Sana’a to Djibouti, described as the single largest evacuation by air in a day. The Indian Airforce had dispatched its C-17s on April 2, and brought back 358 Indians.
7.GOI decided to take the sea route to rescue the expatriates stranded in Aden, a port city after the government’s plans to airlift them did not materialize due to attack on Sana’a airport.
8.Two merchant vessels and two warships — destroyer Mumbai and stealth frigate Tarkash — also left for Yemen, to help ferry other stranded expatriates back home. The government had also pressed into service INS Sumitra to ensure the safety and security of the passengers from pirates.
9.India’s shipping corporation also sent two passenger ships—Kavaratti and Corals— to assist the navy. In all, India sent five ships to Yemen. Small boats were used to transport Indians from Yemen’s port city Aden onto the naval vessels that could not enter the ports due to heavy firing.
10.Eyewitnesses state that, in such a hostile atmosphere, unarmed Gen VK Singh toured the cities & villages in Yemen, collecting Indians & anybody else who asked him for help. He did not sit in a car or a helicopter. He actually got on the ground & walked on the roads, in the streets & commanded the operation.
11.Because of the stunning rescue work done by India, 26 nations reached out for help in evacuating their citizens. Countries like USA, Germany, France were amongst those which sought help.
12.Most aircrafts and ships landed in Mumbai and the southern Indian city of Kochi. The evacuees were then transported to their hometowns by Indian Railways. The railways offered free tickets for their onward journeys. In addition, state governments have offered financial support to many evacuees.
13.It’s a matter of shame for the nation, that no leading newspaper or media channel finds this historic mission worthy enough to cover front pages or be on prime time. It’s up to social media now, to let the truth prevail.

(Unidited Release)

The Drill Square of Officers Training Academy wore a spectacular look with traditional military regalia and splendour on the occasion of Seventh Passing Out Parade. The Passing Out Parade ushered in another glorious day in the history of the Indian Army as 106 Gentlemen Cadets of the first Technical Entry Course ie TES – 25 ( First Blood ) who completed their basic military training from this academy in Jun 2012 passed out and got commissioned as officers. In addition 48 Special Commission Officers got commissioned into the Indian Army and 64 Gentlemen Cadets of Technical Entry Scheme Serial 31 proceeded to various engineering colleges of the Army to pursue their engineering degrees from military engineering colleges at Secundrabad, Mhow and Pune. The Gentlemen cadets mesmerised a large gathering of military and civil dignitaries and family members of the trainees with their suave and graceful drill movements in an impressive parade. Lieutenant General Arun Kumar Sahni , General Officer Commanding-In-Chief, South Western Command was the Reviewing Officer of the parade.
The Reviewing Officer arrived at the venue in a majestic Horse Carriage escorted by smartly dressed mounted horse riders. He was received at the venue by Lieutenant General R K Sharma, Sena Medal Commandant Officers Training Academy Gaya. The Reviewing Officer was accorded a salute by the parade followed by an impressive March Past.
The Reviewing Officer also gave away various awards to the Gentleman Cadets who had excelled in training. The prestigious Sword Of Honour for best in overall performance among TES 25 Course was awarded to Wing Cadet Captain Pankaj Kumar Atri and Gold, silver and Bronze medals as per order of merit were awarded to Wing Cadet Captain Sandeep Gupta , Wing Cadet Captain Pankaj Kumar Attri and Platoon Cadet Captain Abhinav Kumar Sinha respectively. The Silver Medal for standing first in the Order of Merit among the Passing Out Special Commissioned Officer course was awarded to Academy Under Officer Shakti Singh Shekhavat. Tithwal Company was awarded the Chief Of Army Staff Banner for the overall champions of Spring Term 2015.
Later, addressing the parade, Lieutenant General Arun Kumar Sahni , congratulated the Gentlemen Cadets for excellent standard of turnout and drill. He urged the future officers to make their nation and their Alma Mater proud by rendering selfless and honourable service. He also stressed on the virtues of military ethos and soldierly qualities which they should imbibe.
The parade culminated with the Passing Out Course stepping on the shimmering stone of the ‘Antim Pag’ ( the ‘Final Step’) who were then administered the oath by the Adjutant of the Academy in presence of the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The badges of officers’ rank were then placed on the shoulders of the newly commissioned officers by their parents and close relatives.
It was a lifetime experience for the parents of the newly commissioned officers. All of them were overwhelmed with emotional feelings and said that they were very proud of their sons. Congratulating the parents, the Reviewing officer said that they were among a few lucky parents whose sons got the opportunity to serve in the Army as it is one of the noblest professions.
It will be recalled that Government had given a nod to raising one more Pre-Commission Training Academy in the year 2010, primarily to plug the officer’s shortage in the Army. Consequently, OTA, Gaya was raised on 18 July 2011 with the motto of ‘Shaurya, Gyan, Sankalp’ (Courage, Wisdom, Resolve). Presently, the Academy conducts training for the Technical Entry Scheme and Special Commission Officer entries, popularly known as the TES and SCO respectively. The Cadets belonging to the former category join the Academy after completing the 10+2 schooling and the latter are selected from the rank and files of the armed forces. The TES entry undergo one year of Basic Military Training before proceeding to various Military Technical Institutions for engineering studies. They get commissioned on completion of their technical training. The SCO Cadets are given pre-commission training before getting commissioned into various regiments of the Army and Assam Rifles.

Here are some SSB Interview Tips ...That will be helpful for PIB Interview (TA) Recommended Candidates.

Understand Psychology Tests in SSB

Personality assessment conducted in SSBs is based on the science of Psychology. Psychology is not an absolute science, unlike the physical sciences known to us. It implies that there are not always absolute & definite yes, or no answers to problems, or situations.

The battery of psychology tests conducted in SSB is based on Projective techniques.Projective techniques work on the established fact that when we describe ambiguous stimuli, we actually describe ourselves, & reveal our personalities, the conscious part (of which we are well aware) & even the unconscious part (of which we are unaware)! The unconscious part of the brain is assessed by some as being 9/10th part & conscious only 1/10th part.

In Projective techniques, a person is shown ambiguous stimuli (such as words, situations or pictures) and asked to interpret them in some way. Such stimuli allow relative freedom in projecting one’s own interests and feelings into them, reacting in any way that seems appropriate. Projective techniques are believed to be sensitive to unconscious dimensions of personality. Defence mechanisms, latent impulses, and anxieties can be inferred from data gathered from projective techniques by expert psychologists. Assessment by expert psychologists is an art & not a science.

Assessment of an individual is done based on the entire written tests & not piece meal, like separate assessment of WAT, TAT & SRT. Personality of an individual is one whole, the various inputs help to construct it.

HOW DOES IT AFFECT CANDIDATES PLEASE DO NOT WASTE UNNECESSARY TIME TO PRACTICE ALL THESE TESTS. WORK TO GENUINELY IMPROVE YOUR PERSONALITY, LEAVE THE ASSESSMENT TO THE EXPERTS!
