A tranquil oasis in the suburbs

THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST AIRBNB EVER! After hours of research, finally I found a hidden gem in Torrance, CA. Before I booked Valerie’s home, I was kind of scared because it was my first time using Airbnb. Not to mention, this was a family trip for Christmas, so I wanted to book a decent and clean place. Valerie answered all my questions prior and during my stay (including Christmas day). Valerie is very kind and went out of the way for us! Valerie has many interesting things in her house; so many details to look forward to. Her home has an “antique” or vintage look. Definitely, out of the ordinary décor. The place is lovely, welcoming, and peaceful/serene. We felt like we were in our ‘home’ in Washington. Indeed, a tranquil oasis in the suburbs. We all enjoyed our stay, and my parents couldn’t have been happier anywhere else. The neighborhood is safe, and my mom enjoyed her daily walks during our 5-day stay. If we plan another trip to SoCal, we will definitely book with Valerie. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back to LA anytime soon. However, we can cherish the wonderful memories from Christmas 2019. Thank you Valerie, for your utmost hospitality! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. *SIDE NOTE: I have seen a couple of comments regarding the quiet hours and light distraction rules. There are quiet hours almost any place you book. It’s kind of common sense, you turn the light off at night due to environmental and courtesy reasons. The lady that lives in the front is actually very nice and understanding. We rubbed elbows with her a couple times in the shared patio.

We couldn't have been happier about our stay in Torrance. Valerie's place has everything one needs and more. Easy check-in and check-out, responsive, easy instructions, clean and cozy place. Short walking distance to many options for meals, however, everything you need to prepare a meal at this oasis is also available.

Cozy and beautiful, the art and amenities are great. Well stocked kitchen and lovely patio. The spring flowers in the garden were gorgeous.

This place has all of the comforts of home. Being able to park inside a locked garage is a definite plus. Everything was clean and comfortable. Money well-spent!

Who needs an expensive hotel when you can rent a full house, seven minutes by car from the beach? Every convenience offered. Two TV's, full kitchen, laundry, fireplace, private patio and more. An entire house for only $120 a night. You cannot beat this. After having spent over $400 a night at the Hyatt Palm Springs, I would much rather have stayed at this tranquil oasis in Walteria, South Torrance for a fraction of the price.

Latest review: “This was a wonderful house in a beautiful neighborhood. It was exactly as described in the listing. The bedrooms were pleasantly decorated, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked. The living room was stylish and had a L-shaped couch with a large TV. Driveway parking was provided, a really nice bonus in this residential neighborhood.”
