RHS - Royal Horticultural Society RHS Chelsea Flower Show RHS of Perthshire Discover Scottish Gardens Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced gardener or grounds-person to join the gardening team responsible for the maintenance of one of Scotland's most historic gardens and grounds which surround Scone Palace, a 5 star visitor attraction.

The successful applicant will work alongside volunteers and horticultural students and be involved in projects with the local community and schools taking place in the gardens.

Applicants should have an SVQ2 in Horticulture (or equivalent) as well as practical grounds/horticulture experience, PA1 and PA6 for chemical application and a full driving license.

Applicants must be self motivated, passionate about the presentation of the gardens and grounds, be a positive communicative team member and possess the drive to work unsupervised. Occasional weekend work will be required.

KID'S GARDEN WORKSHOPS!

Looking for something different to do this summer, then why not join our Kids Garden Club here at Scone Palace? Green-fingered children can spend time in our Kitchen Garden where they will have the opportunity to learn from our gardening experts whilst exploring the grounds and their natural surroundings.

Suitable for children aged from 9 - 12 years old, there are lots of green-fingered activities being planned for the club including planting and sowing in the kitchen garden, harvesting vegetables, salads and flowers for use in the Coffee Shop, there may even be a spot of weeding! There will also be a selection of craft activities and the opportunity to learn how to identify different trees and conifers, not forgetting the famous Douglas Fir.

Refreshments will be supplied as will all gardening tools and equipment, all they need to bring along are wellies and sunscreen.

The Kids Summer Garden Club will take place every Wednesday on 6th, 13th, 20th and 27 July and 3rd and 10th August from 9.30am - 1.00pm. Places are limited to 10 per weekly session and cost £12.00 per week. Book all 6 weeks and get one week FREE!
