Beautiful 🌟SARDINIA🌼 is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. An ancient Sardinian legend tells that the island was formed by God on the sixth day of creation from leftover stones. An den Ufern der Mur jagten die Habsburger in ihren Revieren, unten im Fluss fuhren Flöße und Kähne. Der weit über vierhundert Kilometer lange Fluss, der Österreich mit Slowenien und Kroatien verbindet, atmet die Geschichte der alten Monarchie. In Teil zwei der Serie „Wasserwege in Österreich“ erkundet Erbe Österreich diese Lebensader von ihrem Ursprung in den Hohen Tauern bis zu ihrer Mündung in die Drau.

Wie alle Flüsse war auch die Mur ein wichtiger Verkehrsweg, bis ihr im 19. Jahrhundert die Eisenbahn den Rang ablief. Bis dahin fuhr man auf Einwegschiffen, die am Ende der Fahrt zerlegt und zu Brennholz verarbeitet wurden. Das war einfacher, als sie gegen den Strom wieder flussaufwärts zu transportieren.

In my opinion, this is simply the most beautiful art museum on this planet - the 🌟KUNSTHISTORISCHES MUSEUM🌟 in 🌟VIENNA🌟! ❤️❤️❤️
The building itself is a treasure trove to house the uncountable art works collected by the imperial Habsburg family throughout the centuries! 🥰🌟🌟🌟🍀
I've been there so many times now, as a guide with my groups as well as an individual visitor, but I literally get goosebumps every time I climb the majestic staircase into the heaven of the arts.

This time, I went to see the new exhibition on Arcimboldo, Bruegel and the Bassano family which focuses on the new relationship between humans and nature during the 16th century. Not only masterpieces of these artists were brought together, but also numerous reference objects by Giambologna, Giorgione, Dürer, Bramante or Leonardo da Vinci (see one of his drawings on the last picture of my post!) complete this great exhibition! Will definitely come back soon! 🥰🥰🥰

Have you ever heard about Jacopo, Francesco or Leandro Bassano? They're not that commonly known - unjustly!
