High cirrus continues to move to the north east, with the bulk of it north of Indianapolis. The eclipse will be in the southern sky, so any cover directly overhead or to the north will have no impact
Enjoy the eclipse, and stay safe!

08/04/2024

We are keying on a broad area of high cirrus moving NE over southern Missouri. This should get into central Indiana between 1-2PM. There is still some uncertainty on how thick this cirrus will be as it reaches Indiana. Stay tuned for updates!

While uncertainty remains, there are signs that skies may be clearing by Monday afternoon for the upcoming eclipse. There is at least a 30-50% chance that total sky coverage will be 50% or greater, but that does not mean all cloud cover will be thick and opaque. Stay tuned!

Good news: It could be sunny; Bad News: It could be cloudy. 4 days out, and there are still a wide range in outcomes. Remember 100% cloud cover doesn't mean 0% eclipse visibility. Low opacity cloud cover still counts as cloud cover. Stay tuned for updates as more clarity comes in the days ahead.
