Today I begin a new month-long series: images I created from the currently on-going RenFaire here in Southern California.
Upon entering the Faire grounds, who do I first encounter but quite a unique character: a Minotaur. This was going to be an interesting RenFaire. The next month will unveil what I saw. Please enjoy.

Tomorrow is the last posting in this series. As I was about to leave the Dickensfest, I came across this colorful character. I emphasized her hues with a matching background, enhancing the color scheme throughout.

It was interesting to run across the “President of the United States, Teddy Roosevelt” while I was at the Old West event. He looked “bully”, of course!

Having fun with some pine trees - long exposure and tilting/panning the camera at the same time to get a blurred effect. Sometimes there is some artistic beauty in serendipitous moments.
There are a number of natural arches amongst the foothills of the Alabama Hills. Here is Lathe Arch, a very elongated thin arch where you need to stretch down to get just the right angle for this view.
Here’s a close-up of the Alabama Hills. I dropped in one of my sky photos to enhance the scene, to give it more of a dramatic effect. The original photo was flat and had no clouds whatsoever.
The Alabama Hills just outside Lone Pine, California is a lovely location to capture amazing landscape photography, especially for a novice like me! Landscape photography is relatively new for me but here you can practice and practice and come away with stunning images.
Early morning strolling through the foothills of the Eastern Sierra, you can come across lovely sights all around you.
Today I begin a week-long series of photos I took this past October in the Eastern Sierra. One of the first stops was the Japanese interment camp of Manzanar. This was one of ten “relocation centers” established during World War II. Everyone should visit this sobering site!
