Thank you Jetway Travel for a fantastic trip to sunny Curaçao. The island was gorgeous with sunny skies and warm breezes, beautiful beaches and sparkling blue water. We loved that we could snorkel from any beach and see amazing fish. It was a great mix of relaxation and adventure. It may be my new favorite island!

George and Denise Haas just returned from an Alaskan cruise. We had a wonderful time in the Land of the Midnight Sun. The cruise portion (on the Grand Princess) was relaxing and the food choices throughout were excellent. The staff was welcoming and very accommodating. We had the option of ordering in breakfast and took advantage of it on days when we had early excursions planned off ship. Some lasting on-ship memories included cruising Glacier Bay and College Fjord. Nothing can prepare you for the beauty of these natural wonders. There was a lot of marine wildlife to observe, including harbor seals and playful pods of sea otters. The scenery was often breathtaking. Another bonus was passing Vancouver Island and catching the locals celebrating Canada Day on July 1 with fireworks, which sort of made up for missing U.S. celebrations back home on the 4th, lol.

All of our excursions were well worth it and afforded us many opportunities to see Alaska in all her natural beauty. Hiking near the Mendenhall glacier and massive waterfall; touring the salmon hatchery and lunching at a salmon bake in Juneau; a short boat trip in Ketchikan (where eagle sightings became as common as cardinals back home) added to our appreciation of the land and people. By far our favorite side trip was a coach trip from Skagway to the Yukon Territory where we saw moose, grizzly and black bears and then meandered through the wilderness via the White Pass and Yukon Railway, which harkened back to gold mining days (2023 is the rail's 125th anniversary).

At least for us, this trip of a lifetime wouldn't be complete without a trip to Denali National Park. The Alaska Railway trip from Anchorage to Denali was 8 hours of luxurious comfort and spectacular views. (If only the airlines were this relaxing.) The train menu was more than adequate and the observation cars afforded eye-popping vistas, from fast-moving glacial rivers to crystal-clear lakes and miles and miles of snow-capped mountains. Once in Denali, we enjoyed an exhilarating evening raft trip (10:30 p.m. and still sunlit!!) and our motorcoach wildlife tour the next day gave us another chance to see the park residents in their habitat -- porcupines, Dall sheep, caribou, bears, a marmot and even a ptarmigan family (the state bird), more than filled up our figurative wildlife bingo card. We were also lucky enough to have a clear morning to see Denali in all its magnificence. All in all, a very satisfying (and exhausting) series of adventures.
