Her keen eye for emerging artists, as well as her educational approach, enables her to advise clients in the selection and placement of artwork in homes, offices, and businesses. Whether it’s developing an entire comprehensive collection, p

urchasing an individual piece of art, or help with framing and installation, Rena’s experience in the field allows her to provide the best objective professional guidance. Additionally, Rena leads unique and captivating art tours in the art districts of Chicago. The art tours are a wonderful way to educate oneself about the ins and outs of the contemporary art scene. The tours consist of visits to contemporary art galleries, private collections, artist’s studios and museums. Rena also creates custom tours for corporate groups, entertaining clients, and special occasions such as birthdays, tailoring the program to come up with a tour guaranteed to meet individual or group needs. She is the former owner of Rena Sternberg Gallery in Glencoe, Illinois. Rena spent 3 years as President of the Women’s Board of The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and still remains an active member of the Women’s Board and Emerge Group of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Society for Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Following the return of Expo Chicago, Rena Sternberg was so excited to show her tour just some of what this incredible event brings to Chicago.

Described as “A collective offering about touch, transmission, and skin”, our day began with a visit to “Skin in the Game”, a group exhibition curated by the immensely talented Zoe Lukov and produced by Abby Pucker. We had the privilege of speaking with Lily during our tour and we could not be more grateful for the fascinating insights she provided on this incredible exhibition.

Following our morning with Lily, we then continued on to Kavi Gupta Elizabeth Street for two solo exhibitions by Devan Shimoyama and Alisa Sikelianos-Carter. With the knowledge of our lovely guide Rachel, we were absolutely floored by the power and vibrancy of these works.

The Spring 2022 Tour season has finally begun! Last Friday, we had the utmost pleasure of speaking with the lovely Martha Tuttle regarding her new solo exhibition, “An ear, a hand, a mouth, an offering, an angel” at Rhona Hoffman Gallery. Throughout the rest of the tour, we enjoyed the work of contemporary artists such as Greg Breda, Anneke Eussen, Megan Greene, & more. Thank you so much to Martha and the rest of our speakers!

Brightening up a gloomy Friday morning, Rena Sternberg brought her tour to the MCA for a deep dive into immersive works by Caroline Kent, Bani Abidi, & Orkideh Torabi. Thank you to David for being such a great guide!

For the second stop on her October art tour, Rena Sternberg gave her tour participants an inside look into two fantastic group shows while visiting Kavi Gupta’s Elizabeth Street location.
One of these exhibitions, “Surface is only a Material Vehicle for Spirit, curated by the multi-talented Kennedy Yanko, showcased a spectacular group of artists including Katie Bell, Monica Rezman, Pamela Council, & Charles Mason lll, among others.

Rena Sternberg kicked off her October art tour with a visit to “Controlled Burn”, Chicago-based painter Celeste Rapone’s solo exhibition at Corbett Vs. Dempsey Gallery. We were floored by the level of technical skill, art historical reference, and comedic edge in these works. Thank you so much to Emily for the thorough walk-through!
