Celebrating Black History Month by honoring the legacy of Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park! Founded in 1908 by Col. Allen Allensworth and a group of African Americans, it’s the only California park established, financed, and developed by African Americans. Located near Earlimart, the park’s growing collection of restored buildings symbolizes Allensworth’s dream of a thriving, independent community. Each year, the park hosts special events to honor its rich history. Visitors can explore and learn more about this incredible piece of California's story!
