You could stay in Orgiva, the Capital of La Alpujarra, and from there visit the spa town of Lanjaron, the Lecrin Valley & Los Guajares, the Port of Motril, the coastal towns of Salobrena and Almunecar as well as Granada City and its Splendid Alhambra Palace and the Gardens of the Generalife. You could then move to Bubion in the beautiful Poqueira Valley with its two other white villages, Pampaneir
a, Capileira and the National Park above. The traditional villages ot La Taha of Pitres are within very easy reach and so is Trevelez, the highest inhabited village in the Iberian Peninsula, famous for its ham production. Finally you could stay at Dar Alali in Torvizcon, the most important village of La Contraviesa, a well-known wine elaboration area that runs down to the Mediterranean Sea. Time has forgotten many of the villages of La Contraviesa, amongst them Yegen that you would have read about in Gerald Brennen’s book “South from Granada”
