The Royal Hawaiian is an iconic beachfront hotel located on 15 acres on Waikiki Beach. It opened in 1927 (think of all the history)! Bedrooms feature doors that are hand carved with the Hawaiian state seal, high ceilings and walk in closets. There is a bakery on site that is known for its banana bread. Don’t forget to stop by the Famous Mai Tai bar while there!

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua hosted us for breakfast and a tour of their beautiful resort, which has so much to offer their guests. The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa was the first all service hotel in Maui, built in 1963. There is so much history here! It has the biggest beach on Kaanapali and is located right next to the Black Rock, making it a great place to snorkel and scuba dive. Today we boarded Hawaiian Airlines for a short flight to Maui. Upon arrival we rented a car and drove to The Westin Maui Resort & Spa Ka’anapali. On the way, we made a pit stop at the legendary Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop where we taste tested some of their famous pies! The Westin Maui is a gorgeous resort featuring 769 newly renovated rooms. The ground is a verified botanical garden with flamingos and other wildlife located throughout the property. It is in the perfect location for whale watching, shopping and eating. I realize that a resort/hotel may not be the best fit for larger families or groups traveling together wanting extra space to spread out. If you are looking for a condo in Grand Cayman, I can highly recommend Boggy Sands Club on 7 Mile Beach. Within this gated community, each unit has 4 bedrooms (sleeps 10 people), 4 bathrooms, a large gourmet kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, separate sitting room/game room and large porch/balcony. Each building also has a rooftop terrace with plenty of seating and an elevator. There is a pool with kitchen area and grill along with both shaded and unshaded seating options. Now let’s talk about the beach! They have their own private beach area (beautiful white sand and crystal blue water), lots of chairs, a large mat in the water for floating/jumping (a favorite for the teens), and the Boggy Sands Bus, complete with all the toys, rafts, accessories that you will need to enjoy your beach time. Last but certainly not least, the staff at Boggy Sands is amazing! Immediately after booking, to arrival and every day while at Boggy Sands, they are there to answer questions and just make sure you have everything you need. They have thought of every detail! There was someone at the beach everyday to set up chairs and umbrellas and they texted daily to see how they could help. The condo was in the perfect location on 7 Mile Beach, away from the crowds.
