Volcanoes have always fascinated me and I had wanted to see this one for a long time! Taal is one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines, it actually erupted last time I was in the country so I couldn’t visit it.

It’s still deemed unsafe to hike up to the crater so I had to look at it from the safe distance of Tagaytay, the town nearby.

The crater has a lake, which is a lake on an island on a lake on an island, the only one of its kind - if I’m not mistaken! Also, the bit you see that has an obvious volcano shape, is only the result of the latest eruptions. The entire lake on the picture is the caldera of the volcano, so it’s a much larger beast than what you might think at first glance. Scary!

It might not be the nicest city in Asia, but Manila still has some pretty cool spots to visit, like the San Augustin church, which is quite photogenic 📸

As a fan of skyscrapers, I had been wanting to get up close and personal with this one for a while!

Canton Tower is the 4th tallest building in the world and 2nd tallest in China. There’s quite a few things you can do there, between the classic glass floor showing you a massive drop below you, a sky walk, bubbles that take you around the summit below the antenna, the highest thrill ride in the world, a revolving restaurant… etc.

And of course they sell all sorts of souvenirs shaped like the tower, including bottles of baijiu 😅

Now in Chiang Mai again after a great week in Bangkok. This was my 6th visit to this amazing city which means by now I’ve really been able to scratch below the surface and there’s so much to discover, like this cool graffiti park I checked out with my mate Charlie. Have you been to Bangkok?

When I woke up that morning, I didn’t know I’d end up with a snake in my hands, but I guess it’s the kind of stuff that happens in Thailand 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Jokes aside, this was at the Snake Farm in Bangkok, a place run by the Red Cross where they keep a bunch of snakes which they can study and use their venom to make anti venom.

The Dafen Oil Painting village is an area of Shenzhen full of art shops and galleries, with artists painting in the street, quaint coffee shops and so on. It’s fairly similar to the M50 area of Shanghai and great to spend an afternoon!

Taking in the sights on my last few days in Istanbul. I’m leaving the city for the umpteenth time but this time it’s different as I likely won’t be back for over a year.

The freelancing has been a bit too unstable and unpredictable so I’m going back to China for a bit of stability and some sweet Chinese RMB 😅

That’s if all goes according to plan of course…
