It’s Thanksgiving season and the perfect place to celebrate is Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom Park. The fare is served family-style and includes salad and rolls, turkey, pulled pork, and pork tenderloin, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and gravy. The grand finale, which is the whole reason we choose Liberty Tree Tavern, is the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. So good! It’s a warm vanilla toffee cake with chocolate sauce and served with a huge scoop of ice cream on top. I was in the park with friends so we celebrated our .

Took a field trip to Epcot to check out one of the many food booths from the Food and Wine festival. This visit was dedicated to Mexico which is always a solid choice no matter what festival it is.

🍤 Tostada de Cameron - Tempura battered shrimp, cabbage, guacamole, mango pieces and chipotle aioli.

🍫 Pan de Elote - Mexican cornbread topped with chocolate sauce and queso fresco

🍹 Mango Sunrise Margarita - Mezcal, mango puree, Black Currant Liqueur, and chile-lime salt rim

Each item was 10/10 so highly recommended!

Which booth should I try next?

A rainy day at Walt Disney World called for a leisurely breakfast at Kona Cafe. Featured dishes included the famous Tonga Toast (sourdough bread French toast with banana and cinnamon sugar) and seasonal pancakes (lemon glaze and blueberry compote). Don’t forget to order the POG juice!

Always good fun at Breakfast a la Art at Topolino’s Terrace. Meal starts with a pastry basket served with hazelnut spread, homemade strawberry jam, and whipped butter. Guests have a choice of entree and non-alcoholic beverage. We opted for the famous POG juice (passion, orange, guava) and coffee. For entrees our group tried the steak and eggs with polenta (that’s my favorite!), bread pudding brûlée, and quiche Gruyère. If you ask nicely your service will bring a side of the sour cream waffle with chantilly cream and orange-maple syrup (my second favorite!). Don’t forget about the characters! Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy are dressed in their respective artistic attire and every so often will parade around the room. This character meal is my favorite because it’s very low-key and the food is outstanding. Reservations are very hard to get so be sure it’s the first one you book. I always recommend trying to plan this on your departure day as a last hurrah.

Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT is in full bloom. This is by far my favorite festival just because of the gorgeous topiaries all over the park. The food booths are just a bonus. Enjoy the festival until May 27th.

‼️New food at Magic Kingdom ‼️

For a limited time you can get Tiana’s beignets at Golden Oak Outpost. This version is different from the ones at Port Orleans Resort but equally as good. For $6.99 plus tax you get 5 beignets dusted generously with powdered sugar and strawberry sauce. Hopefully once Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens beignets will be served regularly. Hours are 12pm - 5pm and expect a wait.

Also new is the Fried Green Tomato sandwich at Pecos Bill. Between two thick, toasty pieces of bread is a bacon pimento cheese spread, fried green tomato (I’d like to see a second slice of tomato), bacon, and lettuce. Unfortunately you are not able to customize the sandwich via mobile order. The sandwich is $10.99 plus tax and served with kettle chips. Solid choice for lunch, especially if you are a fan of fried graham tomato sandwiches.

Have you tried any of these new offerings? If so, what did you think?

Enjoyed another fun race this weekend with good friends. Only 101 days until my next race!
