What I ate in Budapest in my first 3 days.

I'm still trying to work my way through an ever growing list of recommendations.

But I realised that food prices have definitely gone way up over the past years. It's quite similar to Germany at this point, which I did not expect.

If you want to check out the food and places:

📍Lescó : goulash
📍 : cold cottage cheese dumplings
📍 : corn sandwich
📍 : black sesame latte
📍 : bibimbap

Felt inspired to redo my edits of last month's Stray Kids concert in London.

I took an old digicam with me to try to get decent photos, but it was hard. I also tried the zoom on my phone, but it makes people look very comic-like...

I couldn't shoot in raw mode, so the colours were all over the place. Hence, I prefer the black and white pics.

Now I like my edits more.

Throwback to when the appeared over Bamberg, Germany. 🇩🇪

Of course I was still awake and lucky I saw people posting about it on social media, so I checked my own sky. They really become visible in photos and are harder to spot with the naked eye. I remembered that from when I travelled around Lapland.

When I was travelling the world full time as a travel content creator, I used myself as a model. I was also my own brand face, so it was just the easiest way to take gorgeous landscape and location shots with a person to tell a story.

And I did this all by myself. and let me tell you, it's SOOOO MUCH WORK (I'm saying this cause people still think influencers just get free stuff thrown at them and then chill) and a total workout. The way my body would often almost collapse from running back and forth to adjust, retake pics, stop people from running over my equipment etc.

And is you've fallen a good look at selfies vs when someone else takes a good photo of you, you know that your energy can make or break a photo.

So realising that I could actually have someone else take my photo for me and it'll be good and fast is mind-boggling.

that's why I'm now offering it. I know what to look out for, how to work around obstacles when you travel and what did into social media strategies. You don't want great photos only for funsies.

Joy is key, but if you can make it work for your business, that's golden.

It's calming, it's beautiful and it feeds my curiosity and in turn my creativity.

And this park in Bamberg, Germany 🇩🇪 is so tranquil and full of little statues and pagodas. I love it!

Ever heard of Kulmbach in Germany?

It's a relatively small city in Bavaria but full of sights you can see in one afternoon. Plus, there are local fairs and beer festivals, a quaint Christmas market and an epic castle towering above it all.

I was honestly super surprised at how cute it was and here's why you should plan a day trip to Kulmbach.

I always say that travel is a pretty good test for any type of relationship.

You learn so much about one another and especially see the person's interest and how they react when things go wrong. Says a lot about their character and self regulation as well.

Years ago I believed that you have to compromise all the time and just settle for something either one of you likes, or that you both kinda (but not passionately) want to do. I call that halfway happy. And I also call it BS now.

Yes, sharing an experience is amazing! But you also get to take advantage of what everyone in your party enjoys. You can split up for a little bit, you know? Then meet up for a shared fun thing.

Anyway, here is my article on what to ask each other prior to the trip so you don't have a rude awakaning. Not everyone is meant to be your travel buddy:

If you are travelling with someone (especially someone new), here are 15 questions to ask your travel buddy to keep your relationship intact.

Haven't been here in ages, but this is the park at Bad Muskau Castle, which sits right in front of the Polish border in Germany.

Yes, the castle is really that red. And the museum inside is well worth a visit! It chronicles the life of Fürst Pückler, who travelled everywhere, was poetic, a full Renaissance man really. And the last time I visited, you could even have a love letter from him printed for you. (He wrote sooo many! And he was such a charmer)

Whether you go for many short trips or buy a one way ticket, you need flexible travel insurance to cover your health and any potential mishaps. I honestly have never been on a trip abroad without my insurance.

I am German, domestic insurance is mandatory. So it's natural. But also, travel (health) insurance can be so incredibly affordable and I for sure have used it rather often...

Here's my guide on what to look out for and my recommendation:

Whether you go for many short trips or buy a one way ticket, you need flexible travel insurance to cover your health and any potential mishaps. What to know.

Fun fact: I used to be a full time travel blogger and went all over the world to shoot destinations, market travel companies and share my own travel tips (and what definitely NOT to do).

And one thing that I found utterly annoying was taking photos by myself.

I love photography. But when you solo travel, there's no one there to

💪 lend you a hand with taking photos

🏃‍♀️ so you don't have to run back and forth and someone who will

🤳 tell you there's a weird strand of hair or shadow in your face

And then the anxiety of setting up your camera/phone getting it stolen or run over!

Plus, you take a gazillion photos and they are not quite as epic as you feel. Which is a bit deflating.

Having someone else help is just such a time saver, helps keep the mood up, makes you feel even cuter!

(And I have learned that strangers really won't do a good job. Especially if they do all the weird poses to pretend they know what they are doing. Look for the dedicated selfie girlies, at the very least.)

Anyway, I fixed my own problem. I am now a pocket photographer, which allows me to travel with my clients. They need their phone, wifi and a tripod. This way, we can do a super quick photoshoot.

They look snatched, their photos are great, someone is talking on the phone (which makes people stay clear) and it's super quick.

What happens to your business content when you travel/are on vacation?

The beauty is that scheduling is a thing. You can bulk create and then let yourself be seen everywhere even when you are on vacation mode.

However, it's typically before a trip that things get hectic and you don't have the headspace for creating content. And then things also.. just.. don't.. work out.

Let me help you take a breather and also reset that headspace.

We can do a two 60min photo sessions (virtually - no need to leave the house, or you can do it when you're already travelling!).

And you get 35 professional photos + 5 short video clips to schedule out for 700 EUR/750 USD.

This way you have a whole month of daily content or two months of content for every two days.

Saves a ton of time, you don't have to hustle and your business is running smoothly.

Let me help you destress!

Book it right here: https://payhip.com/b/swE8y

Fun fact: Bamberg in Germany has multiple castles!

The most prominent sits on its highest hill and is called after it - Altenburg.
The height is 400 meters (437 yards) above sea level, the mountain itself is 86 meters (94 yards) high and the tower has a height of 33 meters (36 yards).

You can enter the tower for a small fee of 1 euro (in cash), which you put into the donation box at the entrance door. There is a narrow winding staircase inside the round tower leading up to the first floor, so being vertigo free definitely helps. From there, you can climb a wooden ladder to get into the upper parts of the tower.

If you pay attention, you can see an iron cage hanging from the top of the tower. It’s called fire basket (Feuerkorb) and was supposed to have been used for signal fires to communicate with the castle Giechburg in the nearby town Scheßlitz.

However, nowadays it is believed to have merely been added to the castle to use for lighting plays in the 20th century.

For more info, read my article: https://bambergtravel.net/altenburg-castle-in-bamberg/

From Down Under Around the World

Hello there! Welcome to a world of travel and endless colours, where I get lost in distant countries and bring you tales from the road. A blog dedicated to all the strong women out there in the world and a source of constant inspiration and the living proof that if you are dead set on making a dream come true, you can!

Out of the Dark to Down Under

Back in 2014, I was in a dark spot. Well, that is an understatement. The only way seemed to be down the rabbit hole but since not all journeys in life end in fairy tales I opted for the way a lot of people tried to discourage me from: I went off the grid. To Down Under.

I booked a one way ticket to the other side of the world with only a tiny scrap of confidence left and that was that I somehow would be fine. Travel has always been a second nature to me and miraculously enough I had always been fine. But that would be heavily challenged on my first solo, round-the-world trip.
