✨🎄 Experience a very ‘Harry Christmas’ as Hogwarts in the Snow returns on Saturday, the most magical time of year to visit Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter.

From 16th November – 19th January 2025, enter the magnificent Great Hall, dressed as seen in the Christmas scenes of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. See fan-favourite sets covered in snow, displaying their festive finery, and discover the filmmaking challenges behind creating ice that never melts and fires that do not burn.

The Hogwarts Castle model will be coated in snow using the same technique used in the Harry Potter film series, and if you can, locate the minuscule snowmen’s hidden location.

Be ready for even more Hogwarts in the Snow wonders and stop by the Christmas shop, which has returned this year for wizarding Christmas gifts and souvenirs.

🌹 Remembrance Day in the UK honours the members of the armed forces who have died in conflicts and the soldiers who fought and lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars.

Today marks the anniversary of the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany, which ended hostilities on the Western Front in World War I in 1918 at the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month."

The red poppy is inspired by the poppies that grew on the battlefields of the Western Front. The tradition of wearing a poppy was made popular by the Royal British Legion, a charity supporting veterans and their families.

Today, let's remember the importance of peace and honour the contributions of veterans and those who continue to serve.

🔥 🎇 Guy Fawkes Night, known as Bonfire Night, commemorates the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, in which a group of English Catholics led by Robert Catesby, including Guy Fawkes, attempted to assassinate King James I by blowing up the House of Lords during the State Opening of Parliament.

Guy Fawkes was arrested in the early hours of November 5th and, under torture, revealed details about the plot.

Following his arrest, bonfires were lit around London to celebrate the king’s survival. The tradition of lighting bonfires has continued every year since.

Fireworks are an essential part of Guy Fawkes Night, symbolising the explosives that were never used.

The Gunpowder Plot led to lasting changes in Parliament security protocols. Today, before the State Opening of Parliament, the Yeomen of the Guard still perform a search of the Palace of Westminster’s cellars to ensure there are no hidden explosives.

Guy Fawkes Night is also observed in some Commonwealth nations, like New Zealand, Canada, and parts of the Caribbean.

Modern calculations showed that if the 36 barrels of gunpowder beneath Parliament had ignited, it would have created an explosion, destroying much of the surrounding area. It could have changed the course of British history entirely.

Alan Moore’s graphic novel "V for Vendetta", followed by the 2006 film adaptation, reimagined Guy Fawkes as a symbol of rebellion against oppression.
