The funeral service for our great, great friend Ian ‘Badger’ Warner will be held at York Crematorium at 11.40am on Monday 31st October, and will be followed by a gathering at The Slip Inn, Clementhorpe. Hearts colours, shirts, scarves etc are very welcome.

We are posting to let fellow Hearts fans know of the sudden and devastating death yesterday morning of our wonderful friend, Ian ‘Badger’ Warner. Badger moved to York in 2006, co-founded York Hearts that same year, and made friends in every area of life. For the last five years, he had been landlord of our HQ, The Slip Inn, which was named York Pub Of The Year in 2020. He was a big Hearts fan, but much more importantly a fantastic person and friend to all who knew him. Everyone’s thoughts are with his wife Gill and his many, many friends.

Hearts begin their European campaign next Thursday, away to Zurich. The game will be shown in The Slip Inn, Clementhorpe, York.
Note: it’s an unusually early kick off time, of 6pm.
