Susie Walton is a pioneer in parent education and has been leading seminars, hands-on workshops, full-length parenting classes, instructor trainings, teacher in-services and one-on-one coaching for over 23 years. In the early 90's Susie acted on her heartfelt belief that true positive change begins in the home and created an organization to help reduce stress and frustration in the areas of family
relationships and raising children. Susie's aspirations and dedication to providing positive change and mutual respect inspired her to open Indigo Village in 2005. Indigo Village is a practical, and authentic creation that comes from the saying "It takes a village to raise a child". It is a unique and dynamic virtual community that provides empowering educational and experiential-based programs in parenting and child development. In addition to the programs she provides through Indigo Village, Walton is also the author of, "Key to Personal Freedom: How Myths Affect Our Family Lives." Since writing the book in 2009, she has traveled the country promoting her book and appearing at various speaking engagements. Professionally, and personally, Susie is an active and influential community member, holding experience as a Board Member for the YMCA Youth & Family Services, Families Forever and more recently founding the Indigo Village Educational Foundation in 2009. Susie's accomplishments have received tremendous recognition; such as defining and writing parenting course work for both the Center for Child Protection and the California State Penal System, a program for parents who are incarcerated minors. She continues to work with a number of organizations and corporate entities in order to develop self-awareness around raising healthy families while implementing practical and positive change. The 5th child in a family of 10, she herself has 4 sons, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson and makes her home in Cardiff by the Sea, California. It started with a vision for bringing peace into the world through families. As a single mom with four children, Susie Walton saw the need for more resources and guidance in raising her sons. It was at this time that she was introduced to a course called "Redirecting Children's Behavior" that ultimately changed her life. The confidence and tools she gained from the course inspired Susie to offer her knowledge to other parents who were struggling with some of the same issues. Fast-forward 21 years later, Susie Walton has developed and established her expertise in the field of parenting, family dynamics and communication, earning her the prestigious San Diego Parent Educator of the Year Award. Since her beginnings, Susie has perfected her craft while adding a few more elements to her arsenal including individual family coaching, public speaking, personal development courses, and most recently, author. In order for her vision to expand and to provide these types of programs and services nationwide, Susie founded Indigo Village in 2005. Indigo Village quickly became the center that people were looking for. The core programs that we offer in parenting and personal development prove to provide people with a very rewarding experience, as much of our business is generated by word of mouth. A few four short years later, Indigo Village found itself again on the verge of expansion. As our reputation grew, so did the need to develop new programs that could connect people in all areas of their life: personal, family and career. We believe that family is the thread of life...connection is a strong desire and need for everyone. We wholeheartedly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Everyone deserves to have community that supports them in creating the family of their dreams.
