Expectation, Reality & Innovation! Couldn’t get the cornets I needed so we ended up with Fruit Cup Unicorns. 😆 By the end of the session the marshmallows were out and these made perfect mock ice creams complete with chocolate sauce, Yum! 🍓🫐🍏🍇🍌🦄🍦🪵🔥🌳☀️❤️

This week is and as a small charity we know how important it is to spread the word about what we do so we can help more people.

The Holistic Wellness Community is a community based charity that aims to offer free holistic therapies to support individuals wellbeing and mental health. One of our most popular offerings is our Forest Bathing classes where we all come together in nature.

We also offer online mindfulness singing classes and community circles where everyone is given the chance to restore and reconnect.

The aim of all our classes is to help our community manage their mental health challenges and reduce anxiety and stress. Lunch and Play - Burgess Hill Listening Project

Join Mid Sussex Voluntary Action - MSVA for free lunch and children's activities, aimed at primary aged children, at the Cherry Tree Centre in Burgess Hill this half term!
MSVA is hosting this exciting in-person event where you can enjoy a delicious lunch for you and your family in their Community Café, as well as craft and play activities being provided by Nature Makers and Burgess Hill Creative Community.

Their Community Listeners will be on hand throughout the event to chat to you about what matters to you.

Due to the damp weather Dragonflies was all about comfort food yesterday. Jacket potatoes 🥔, beans 🫘 and cheese 🧀. Popcorn 🍿, marshmallows and hot chocolate. Popcorn 🍿 and beans 🫘 😮 WHAT? I hear you say! That’s a thing apparently and it got the thumbs up! 👍 Well, perhaps not Everyone’s thing?!? 😮🙈😆 🐝🐿️🪵🔥🌳🌲❤️

Holistic Wellness Community this weekend at Tilgate Park. Sunshine, warm air and the last of the bluebells. Forest bathing, carving walking sticks, camp fire donuts and coffee. A relaxing session with warmth, chats and laughter. 🪵🔥🌳🌲❤️

The birds are nesting so we followed their lead and built dens yesterday in both of our Dragonflies SEND sessions. Did they stand up to the water test, oh yes! PHEW! In the morning we made banana pancakes, always a hit and in the afternoon a campfire version of an apple turnover., which wasn’t bad either!

Dodging the rain at our Dangerous Dads Session yesterday and chatting lots about DadFest24. We made Elder wood Fire steels from scratch, stripped, carved and decorated them. Each was unique. Played in the mud kitchen, hammocks and on the slacklines. Then it was snack time, Hot dog cheesy bannock with ketchup and mustard. Two lovely parties today, Dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 and Fairies & Dens🧚🏻 Both tailored to the wishes of the birthday children. Fire lighting, a Dinotopia mud kitchen, magic potions, scary clay creatures and dens. So much fun outside, running, playing and being free, and of course cake and marshmallows. What more could a child want?!

Our Dragonflies SEND group had fun with paint and mark making this week in preparation for some new seating that we will be decorating soon. Wild garlic is everywhere around our site so we made a pesto pasta and of course we had S’mores too! 🌱🐝🌸🪵🔥🌳❤️

5 mins before the end of our session today one of our holiday club attendees said her Mum had asked her not to make too many things to bring home. This child is very creative and loves making things. As a Mum of a daughter who was the same at her age I understand the ‘Oo that’s amazing, OMG where am I going to put it all!’ But 5 mins notice! The last of our Easter Sessions. A small Family session today, which while quiet, was just lovely as it gave us the time to help create some really lovely pieces with the children. Rabbits, wreaths & spring flowers, hot cross buns, hot chocolate and of course marshmallows and as we were in East Grinstead, Steam train chasing too! 🌱🌼🪵🔥🌳❤️
