Hondarribi's Old Town, where a former castle built in order to watch the french border through the sea is located, now turned into a hotel.

The town was closely bound with the seafaring, as it was founded as fishermens' town, and its Old Town still retains the architecture of those days.

Due to this roots there are many docks in the place as well as hosting one of the teams of "estropadak", the Basque rowing competition.

Each of the buildings is completely unique and full of color as you can see at the left side of the picture. As a turist attraction in Gipuzkoa and being acknowledged as one of the most charming places in the whole country, Hondarribi has become a must see.
