And what’s better than community?

My purpose is to help as many actors as possible, and with 2025 around the corner and productions ramping up I want to make sure each of you are set up for success.

Today we’re talking about a yucky subject: gossip.

Oh my god, I used to love gossip.

I used to love to talk about other people, what they were doing. Ugh, it was so amazing. Can you tell I was a teenager in the 80s?

But today I’m going to talk about why gossip is actually not that great.

But I wanted to do a podcast about this because I feel this is not a subject that is brought up enough around in the acting community.

And it needs to be because we are a creative community.

We need to be able to show up with a level of vulnerability and trust that gossip immediately erodes.

Today I’m going to talk about the abandoned actor.

Have you ever wondered that when we audition, or when we go to a set, or anything, maybe it could even be in your personal life when some kind of pressurized situation happens. We abandon ourselves.

I would abandon myself.

I would abdicate my feelings, my point of view, my talent to everybody else but myself.

And you need to be able to access every ounce of yourself in those situations.

You need to show up as your full self, with your full talent, confident in who you are and what you bring.

We spend so much time and energy overthinking and over analyzing…and the way we think affects the way we behave and the choices we make in our performances and our business.

Stop for a second and consider how many negative thoughts you’ve had about yourself this week. Have you told yourself that you’re not good enough? That what you did was terrible? That you aren’t (insert whatever thing here) enough?

Would you speak to a friend like that?

Pull back the negativity on yourself and start a new process of building positive synapses in your brain about yourself. You deserve it. You’re worth it. You’re enough.
