The Boca Raton Branch of the NLAPW welcomes guests and members to all monthly luncheon programs and events. Explore the encouragement and opportunities that you will find among other creative women such as yourselves. The National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) was founded in 1897 in Washington, D.C. to promote the development of creative women in the arts. The League’s headquarters are loca

ted in the historic Pen Arts Building in the DuPont Circle area of Washington. The Boca Raton Branch, whose proud history originated with a modest “baker’s dozen” in 1975, now boasts more than 100 members, making it the largest branch in Florida, and one of the largest in the nation. Our members bring diverse talents in all areas of the arts not only to our monthly program luncheons, but to the entire community. Among our members you’ll find newspaper and magazine writers, screenplay and book authors, sculptors and painters in all media, photographers, public relations and advertising experts, musicians and composers. Our branch has long been active in the community, routinely reaching out with writing programs and contests, as well as public art shows. In addition, we have developed outreach programs that not only serve the community, but also help the organization maintain its not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) status. The branch holds program luncheon meetings the 3rd Thursday of the month, from October through May, at the Delray Beach Golf Club. For membership information, please visit our website. The U.S. population has more than tripled since the birth of the League. More than a decade into its second century, 55,000 writers, artists and musicians have been proud to call themselves Pen Women. Many of the battles fought by the founders have largely been won, but other challenges remain. For professional women, parity with men in the workplace is still a goal to be achieved.

Our local branch of the National League of American Pen Women is having our first luncheon/meeting on November 21, 2024 at 12 noon at Le Sorelle Restaurant in Boca Raton. YOU MUST SUBMIT A NEW VOTE-BY-MAIL REQUEST

for the Nov 2025 General Election by October 7

Florida’s voting laws now require voters who wish to request a vote-by-mail ballot to do so after every election cycle. The new law requires that every voter who requested a vote-by-mail ballot before November 8, 2023 must do so again if they wish to receive their mail ballots for the 2024 general election.

Vote-by-Mail refers to voting a ballot received by mail or picked up by or for a voter instead of going to the polls to vote during early voting or election day.
