Where to dine in London? 🤔
Step back into the past and visit Rules in Covent Garden, London’s oldest restaurant.
Since 1798 it has served traditional British food, specialising in classic game, oysters, pies and puddings. It is still one of the places to celebrate the Glorious Twelfth 🦆(the beginning of red grouse season).
Having appeared in Downton Abbey and Spectre, in novels by Graham Green to Evelyn Waugh, Rules rightly claims its place as a London institution. Yet, despite an illustrious history and world famous patronage (it was a favourite of Edward VII for wining and dining the actress Lillie Langtry when he was Prince of Wales); it is neither stuffy or inaccessible, nor has it become a caricature of itself. Indeed Rules remains beloved by locals who make up a large proportion of its nightly diners 👌🏻🇬🇧
