one year of being a mama 1️⃣

No one talks about loosing your sense of self during this time. I don’t know when exactly it happened, but all of a sudden I realized that things are different. I am different.

I remember the days when I used to care about my appearance. The days when I’d nap if I wanted, watched what interested me on television, and ate when I was hungry. And although I am still in control of my life, things are different now.

I have other people to consider when making decisions. And many times, I gladly place my wants and needs on the back burner in favor of what CK and others need instead.

I’m still figuring it out, I AM a constant work in progress. So here’s your reminder: Your identity is not singular. Be the best mom you can be, but also remember who you were before giving birth. That person is worth knowing. That person’s identity is worth maintaining. 🤍
