Sena Kalyan Sangstha is a self-financing Welfare Trust Organization of Bangladesh Armed Forces approved by the Government dedicated for the welfare of ex-Armed Forces Personnel and their dependents. Beside, it renders remarkable service to the nation by producing quality consumer goods, providing employment to the people of different classes. Because of the indomitable spirit, firm determination,

efficient management and sincere efforts by all members and contributes in the national income by depositing a fairly large amount of taxes in the Government treasury. With successive better achievement since its inception, the Sangstha has been marching towards progress and prosperity gradually and steadily. In this “Perfectly Competitive Market” scenario where almost every firm/industry is producing homogeneous products, we are proud to be one of them and are optimistic that the year 2017 will provide us opportunities for doing our best. Monthly operation expenditures also is being borne by SKS. Welfare Beneficiaries

All ex-servicemen who are citizens of Bangladesh are eligible for the benefits provided by Sena Kalyan Sangstha. Ex-Armed Forces Personnel include cadets invalidated out of service on account of disability attributable to military service. Widows of beneficiaries provided they have not re-married after death of beneficiaries. The children of beneficiaries provided they are not more than eighteen years of age. Children above the age of eighteen years who are undergoing a course of education/instruction at a school, college or other institute of vocational or technical training shall be eligible for award of educational stipend from the Sangstha or for such other benefits as may be applicable to dependents. Young able-bodied Ex-servicemen released/discharged from Armed Forces face difficulty in employment in civil life. To encourage them for self reliance the Sangstha awards vocational training stipends to all those Ex-servicemen getting training in German Bangladesh Technical Training Centre, Mirpur Technical Training Centre and Chittagong Technical Training Centre. Sangstha awards 100% stipend to all those Ex-servicemen and their dependents getting training in these technical training centres. Besides, the Sangstha awards 100% stipends to those who undergo vocational training in all the District as well as Government Vocational Institutes. Following medical facilities are extended by Sena Kalyan Sangstha:
Provision and Repair of Artificial Limbs
-Eye Treatment
-Special Treatment for Renal disease, Heart Disease, Diabetic Mellitus
-Cancer, Paralysis, major operation
-Continue Treatment for Renal disease, Heart Disease, Diabetic Mellitus
-Cancer, Paralysis, Parkinson disease
-Extra Ordinary Treatment (Treatment Abroad)
-Provision of treatment for retd armed forces personnel other than cmh/govt. Hospital on emergency cases

GRANT OF DISTRESSED ALLOWANCE (DUSHTO BHATA): The system of awarding Distressed Allowance (Dushto Bhata) is as follows:
A) Eligibility: Only the under mentioned persons are entitled to receive Distressed Allowance (Dushto Bhata):
Widows of Ex-armed Forces Personnel of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force including released and retired personnel of British, Indian Armed Forces and Pakistan Armed Forces. Widow wives of Shaheed/Deceased Offrs, JCO, OR, NC(E) and MODC personnel. Only the citizens of Bangladesh are entitled to receive Dushto Bhata. B)Non-Eligibility: The under mentioned widows are not entitled to receive Sena Kalyan Sangstha Distressed Allowance (Dushto Bhata):
Widow wives of dismissed personnel from the Armed Forces services. Widows of Ex-Recruit and income earning wives. Widows of Ex-members of BDR, Ansar, Mujahid, Police etc. Widows receive such Bhata from Govt. C)Application Form: They will collect Application Forms available free of cost with all District Armed Services Boards and Sena Kalyan Sangstha’s Head Office at Sena Kalyan Bhaban, 195, Motijheel Commercial Area, Dhaka-1000 producing their husband’s pension or discharge book. D)How to Apply: An applicant will fill-up section 1 of the application form correctly with connected certificate/papers are mentioned at para-11 of the form and will submit to the concerned District Armed Forces Board for verification and sign by the Secretary DASB. After signature of Secretary DASB will forward the application to the concerned Record Office of the late husband of the applicant for verification/ratification and onward to AHQ¸ AG Br, Welfare Dte for necessary approval. E)Scrutiny: During scrutiny, DASB/Record Office will look into the followings:
Whether the widow applies for Distressed Allowance (Dushto Bhata) actually wife of late Offrs, JCO, OR, NC(E) and MODC personnel. Whether the widows receiving family pension as the wife of late Offrs, JCO, OR, NC(E) and MODC personnel. Authority concerned may inquire the cases whether the widow get remarried or not. Considering the above applicant widow is eligible or not for granting Dushto Bhata. F)Rate of Dushto Bhata: Dushto Bhata yearly rate is Tk. 2,000.00 (Two thousand) only, Postal and Stationary charge is Tk. 100.00 (One hundred) only per widow. G)Disbursement System: Sanctioned amount will be sent to the Welfare Directorate of three services (Army, Navy and Air). They will send to concerned Record Office to distribute among the widows. H) Renewal System: Widows are required to apply once. For subsequent years she will submit a non-marriage certificate from local Chairman that she does not get remarried. J)Forfeiture of Bhata: An award is liable to be forfeiture at any time if she furnishes wrong/false information. K) Committee for Awarding Distressed Allowance (Dushto Bhata): Committee for awarding for distressed allowance (Dushto Bhata) is as under which will be held in the month of April each year:

Member - (1) Nominee from each OIC Record (Major/Equivalent Officer)
Member - (2) Nominee from Welfare Directorate, SKS
Member-Secy - 1x Major/Equivalent Officer from concerned HQ Welfare Directorate

Grant of Veteran Allowances:

A) Eligibility: Ex-Armed Forces Personnel of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force including released and retired personnel of British, Indian and Pakistan Armed Forces Offrs/JCO/OR/NC(E) and MODC personnel of the age of 70 (Seventy) and above years old 65 years in case of injured persons in CHTs. B) Persons not entitled to receive: Following persons are not entitled to receive the allowances:
Dismissed personnel from the Armed Forces Services. Ex-members of BDR, Ansar, Mujahid, Police etc. Wives, sons and daughters of Ex-Armed Forces Personnel. C) Application Form: Application Forms will be available free of cost from all District Armed Services Boards/CORO and Sena Kalyan Sangstha’s Head Office at Sena Kalyan Bhaban, 195, Motijheel Commercial Area, Dhaka-1000 by producing their pension or discharge book
D) How to Apply: An applicant will fill-up part-I of the application form correctly and will be forwarded to concerned District Armed Services Board with connected papers for their verification. On completion of part-II, necessary verification and signed by the Secretary DASB/CORO will forward all the papers to concerned Record Office. Record Office will complete part-III and will forward to Welfare Directorate of concerned services HQ with the opinion of OIC Records for final decision. E) Scrutiny: Concerned Record Office will scrutiny the following documents:
Correctness of date of birth as per discharged book/school certificate. Whether the applicant is eligible for veteran’s allowances on the basis of documents and condition. F) Rate of Allowances: Rate of Veteran Allowance and postal and stationary charges are as under:
Officer - Tk. 1000.00 per month
JCO - Tk. 700.00 per month
OR - Tk. 500.00 per month
Postal and stationary charges - Tk. 100.00 once only
G) Disbursement Procedure: Sanctioned amount will be sent to the Welfare Directorate of three services (Army, Navy and Air). They will disburse to concerned Record Office/CORO for disbursing to the veterans. Sanctioned amount will be forwarded to the veterans by name through bank draft in favour of the same bank from where the individual receiving his pension. H) Renewal System: Once an applicant receiving veteran’s allowances for subsequent year he does not required to apply again. He will submit a certificate from the local Chairman that he is alive. J) Acknowledgement: Applicant will submit an acknowledgement to the concerned Record Offices/CORO. K) Forfeiture of Allowances: An award is liable to be forfeiture at any time if the applicant furnishes incorrect/false information/over-writing/erasing or incompleteness. L) Committee for Awarding Veteran Allowance: Committee for awarding veteran allowance is as under which will be held before Independence Day each year:

Member - (1) Nominee from each OIC Record (Major/Equivalent Officer)
Member - (2) Nominee from BASB (Major/Equivalent Officer)
Member - (3) Nominee from SKS Welfare Directorate
Member-Secy - 1× Major/Equivalent Officer from concerned Services HQ, Welfare Directorate

SENA KALYAN SANGSTHA’S THREE REST HOUSE:
Ex-servicemen used to face difficulties for their short stay at Dhaka, Chittagong and Rajshahi with their limited means. In consideration of their difficulties Sangstha has been maintaining three Rest House for them presently located at House No. 135, Matikata Bazar, Dhaka Cantt, Dhaka, House No. P-2, Shershah Colony, Chittagong and 26/A, Ahmed Nagar, Shalbagan, Shopura, Rajshahi where they get reasonable accommodation at nominal exp.
