The Ninomaru Garden lies at the southern base of Mount Katsuyama and comprises the former site of the second circle of defense (Ninomaru). More comfortably accessible from the city than the main circle of defense (Honmaru) at the top of the mountain, the Ninomaru served as the site of the castle palace where the lord's residence and offices were located.

Uwajima is one of nine locations to watch bull fighting in Japan. Uwajima Bull Fights (宇和島闘牛, Uwajima Tōgyū) are held on five days per year in January, April, July, August, and October. Organized bull fighting at a proper venue started in Uwajima in the 1800s, although bull fighting has taken place here long before.

Ozu Castle (大洲城, Ōzujō) stands on a hill by Hijikawa River in the northwestern part of downtown Ozu. The castle has its origins in the 1300s, and it was rebuilt a few times over the years because of destruction by fire, as well as natural and human-caused disasters. The current castle has been reconstructed in the 1950s, and in 2004 the reconstruction was finally completed.

Uchiko-za (内子座) is a fully operational kabuki theater in the center of town, and a point of pride for Uchiko. The beautiful, multi-story building was built in 1916 and continues to occasionally host various events, including kabuki and bunraku performances.

Ish*teji is known for its Niomon Gate, a designated national treasure. The main hall and tower are also designated important cultural properties, and all of these structures exhibit the typical architecture style of the Kamakura Period (1192-1333). A treasure house displays some of the temple's most important artifacts.

Shimanami-Kaido (Shimanami Sea Route) is a collective name of the 60 km (37 mile) motor highway over the Seto Inland Sea which connects Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, and Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and six islands in between.
