Hello Everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I have to say that I will no longer be producing the HRM Steampunk Symposium in Long Beach. Some rather critical and serious family obligations have materialized which will keep me from being able to give the Symposium the attention that it deserves to continue to be a high quality convention experience. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have been a part of your lives for so long and I hope that you have enjoyed the experience as much as I have.

Not to worry, you will see me around and I am hoping to contribute in small ways to other conventions and events throughout the west and across the country. I’ll be updating and keeping the website up for picture downloads and video and hope that I can be a voice throughout the community and beyond for Steampunk, DIY, and the creative interpretations that so define our culture.

I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to my major departmental volunteers who have been with me from the beginning and without whom I’m sure I would have ripped out all of my hair. Special thanks go to Tawnly and Lori Pranger, Michael and Amy Sorensen, Yuly Springer, Cat Slater, Mike Young and David Hunter-Inman. Their stellar talents and subsequent ability to put up with me should certainly elevate them to the Steampunk Hall of Fame.

America's Got Talent Contacted me the other day... check it out.. Steampunk REPRESENT!!!! past it on!

Hello again Kim!

My name is Merrie and I'm a casting producer for America's Got Talent on NBC. We'll be holding open auditions soon and I was curious if any of the entertainers in your festival or carnivale might be interested.

We'll be in Los Angeles on February 14th and 15 at the LA Convention Center, as well as in Las Vegas on February 12th at Bally's Las Vegas Convention Space. I can send over some web flyers or 11x17 posters if you'd like!

Anyone interested in auditioning should pre-register at www.agtauditions.com. If they are unable to be there in person, we also accept online submissions through our website.

Doors open at 8am in both venues. The producers will stay as late as necessary to see everybody as long as they're checked into the venue by 6pm.

For any dancers, Jennifer Lopez's former husband and choreographer Cris Judd will be helping scout for talent.
