Laurie Laxon Racing Stable Eight-time Singapore champion trainer Laurie Laxon left his native New Zealand to relocate to Singapore in 2000.

Laxon has more than 30 years of experience in racehorse training, during which his biggest achievement was capturing the 1988 Melbourne Cup with EMPIRE ROSE, followed by the 1993 Hong Kong International Cup with ROMANEE CONTI. After a slow beginning to his Singapore career in 2000, Laxon has subsequently always finished in the Top 5 on the trainer’s premiership, which he won in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2

007, 2008, 2009 and 2012. Despite his success on the domestic front where he has won almost every feature race on the Singapore racing calendar, a win in the Singapore Airlines International Cup has eluded him, even after fielding runners without fail since 2001. RECAST gave him his best result with a second place in 2008. Besides RECAST, Laxon has been associated with many good horses such as WHY BE, SADDLE UP, ROYAL CAPTAIN, BIG EASY, RAUL, TOP SPIN and BETTER THAN EVER. He broke his own record of 100 wins registered at Kranji in 2004 when he hauled in 104 wins in 2008. Laxon made history when he became the first trainer to reach the 1,000th win milestone at Kranji with ALAN on July 19, 2013.
