Ride Aroostook Ride Aroostook is a two day bicycle tour to improve the lives of children with diabetes.

Ride Aroostook is an annual two day bicycle tour in beautiful Aroostook County, Maine. Ride Aroostook's main goal is to raise funds to support and expand Camp Adventure, a regional summer camp for children aged 12-17 who have Type 1 diabetes. Camp Adventure seeks to "provide a safe, exciting experience dealing with diabetes while conquering its challenges". Ride Aroostook is not only a fundraiser

for Camp Adventure, but also a grassroots community volunteer effort to encourage healthy lifestyles and promote Aroostook County as a recreation/tourist destination while increasing current and future economic development in the area.

2011 is Ride Aroostook's premier year!

We have a variety of volunteer positions available - there is something for everyone! To get more detailed information about each available task, contact our volunteer coordinator Penny McHatten ([email protected]):

• Safety and Communications
• Finish Line Clean Up Crew
• Finish Line Cheerleading
• Finish Line Decorations
• UMPI Rest Stop
• Course Rest Stops
• Route Marshals / course staff at intersections
• Registration
• SAG Vehicle Drivers*

**There will be a mandatory Volunteer Orientation Meeting at the UMPI Campus Center Friday, July 10th at 6pm. We look forward to seeing you there, and you’re welcome to attend the Wine and Cheese Reception afterwards!!
