Following the successful 2011 Travel Volunteer project, travel writer and photographer duo Jamie Lafferty and Katy Morrison have returned to Japan as part of a new project entitled Smiles of Ishikawa. Starting on Monday, 27 January

, the British couple will embark on a tour of Ishikawa, sharing their historic, cultural and culinary findings on social media in a bid to increase international exposure to the prefecture ahead of a new shinkansen (bullet train) route opening in the region in 2015. The Smiles of Ishikawa project is organised by Ishikawa Prefecture and operated by The Real Japan, a national luxury travel agency.
